Unlike a lot of people here I actually don't hate the Oilers, but here we are, watching them win game 7; a deeply flawed team, who was gifted a lifeless Kings team in round 1 after a mediocre season and still had to play 7 games to beat them. Meanwhile, we scratched and clawed to dictate our series against the back to back champs the whole way and couldn't get anything to go our way. Just a sickening feeling

Codi Ceci just got a GWG in game 7

Also Mcdavid had 14 in 7 against danault and kopitar lol

It’s against LA but McDavid putting the oilers on his shoulders
Scores to make it 2-0 in game 7

And we think we have the best player in hockey 👍🏼
One of the few times I’ve wanted to apologize to oilers fans

Yup it’s like rubbing salt in our wounds. Leafs are the joke of the league sadly. Our fan base deserves better but I’m a firm believer the team is cursed.

Not a curse. The fact that we are even calling it a curse as an easy out instead of expecting more is the problem.

This is an entitlement problem in the organization fueled by our back office and our media telling multiple iterations of the Leafs that they're the best and that they should expect that everything will be handed to them on a silver platter, instead of them learning that winning when it matters is hard, and being forced to learn how to grind tough, uncomfortable, wins out.

Lots of Leafs players see success leaving Toronto because they enter organizations and cultures that reward strong play each and every shift, not excuse inconsistency due to the name of the back of the jersey.

There is a reason the Leafs have more embarrassing losses and embarrassing stories than any other franchise. It's because the organization keeps accepting it, keeps excusing it, keeps the bar always low enough that they can still feel like winners despite losing.

It is the way it goes in sports.

The better teams don't always win. Otherwise, the Leafs would have had a lot more success than they have had at this point.

I knew Dubas was too squeaky clean to go for Kane.... I like Dubas but his good guy routine kills him.

Kane literally saved the Oilers' season...Edmonton wouldn't have made the playoffs without Kane's contribution, scored a bunch of goals for the amount of games he played and made their forward group much deeper.

Going to 7 games to win against that LA team is a bad look for the Oilers

Considering all the failures they've had so far, including losing to an awful Chicago team in the bubble, it doesn't matter how they won this round. And it's not like the Kings are a dumpster fire. It's maybe a year too early for them to do anything in the playoffs, but they're a well coached team that can grind you down

Oilers have a wide open path to the conference finals because Calgary and Dallas aren't anything special (those two teams are saying the same thing).
