Avalanche dominated in terms of the 'underlying' stats. Shot attempts, scoring chances, expected goals etc. Both in 5v5 and all situations.Who was expected to win, post-game with blog stats?
Curious minds would like to know.
I don't understand why we were so stubborn with it. We have so much skill that we should have different setups for different situations. It was pretty clear after two games that Tampa's PK had our number, even if we change sides of Marner and Matthews it makes a difference. Same going with Matthews and Nylander on the wings and put Marner behind the net and then you can switch it back.I get what you're saying, but our PP has been dreadful in the last 3 playoffs and our bottom 6 has been completely dry.
Can't expect this roster, as built, to be a team known for locking down opponents in low scoring games.
I’m not surprised.Anyone else enjoying the irony of Lightning fans moaning about a phantom 5 on 3 call; when a large reason they cleared the Leafs were due to TWO phantom calls that rewarded them a 5 on 3?
Hahahaha.....yup.Interesting that 4 rounds in Colorado still has 32 less PIM than Toronto.....those big bad Leafs.
Not as many fights?Interesting that 4 rounds in Colorado still has 32 less PIM than Toronto.....those big bad Leafs.
Oh yeah, I've kept hush about this on the mains until now that I see the Tampa fans whining about the bogus 5 on 3 causing a goal, I sure hope that goal is the difference maker in this series so Tampa can see that what goes around comes around and then they will be whining all summer long.Anyone else enjoying the irony of Lightning fans moaning about a phantom 5 on 3 call; when a large reason they cleared the Leafs were due to TWO phantom calls that rewarded them a 5 on 3?
Tampa leads in PIM and have 107 more than Colorado.Interesting that 4 rounds in Colorado still has 32 less PIM than Toronto.....those big bad Leafs.
Colorado seems like a very disciplined teamTampa leads in PIM and have 107 more than Colorado.
We have decent and Tampa's trap is godlike. Like they just concentrate on defending and frustrating opponent. I don't us playing that way every time, but it's good tool to have.
We cannot control referees but at least our play we can affect. Those numbers are troubling.
They have the lead all the time and they swept two series.Colorado seems like a very disciplined team
Them pesky Toronto fighters! Not as many fights?
It was a question. I seem to recall a few at the beginning of the series plus Clifford being kicked out.Them pesky Toronto fighters!
Reminds me of the movie when the guys say "We've tried nothing new and we're all out of answers" when it comes to this PP.I don't understand why we were so stubborn with it. They had 134 minutes with 6.1 penalties per game if the SI article and this site are accurateIt was a question. I seem to recall a few at the beginning of the series plus Clifford being kicked out.
Those all add up.
Even if you go with minors, Colorado is barely ahead 4 rounds in.It was a question. I seem to recall a few at the beginning of the series plus Clifford being kicked out.

That's pretty amazing.Even if you go with minors, Colorado is barely ahead 4 rounds in.
