How many series wins did the Oilers have this year compared to us?

When you haven’t won a series in almost 20 years, that would be an accomplishment. And lets cut the bs, guys like you and zeke would be here 24/7 telling us how much amazing progress the Leafs would have made under your god’s guidance if they reached the conference final. Hell even if they won a round. We all know it.

yet I would still take our team over what ever the f*** that is over in Edmonton.

The bandwagon likely has lots of good seating available - go over there and cheer to your hearts content. Fake Leaf fans are not required

The flames aren't chopped liver. That is a 50 win team and Markstrom got dummied by two players who went 2ppg in the playoffs. Actual contenders, pretenders, teams that wouldn't make the playoffs under normal circumstances the Leafs don't win against anyone. I'm not even saying the Oilers are better team. I'm saying let's stop poo pooing them to make ourselves feel better. Oilers made it to the conference finals, Leafs haven't been out of the first round in almost two decades.

You called is the WCF flag.
Until Oilers do something that they earned, they won't be getting praise. Beating a poor LA without Doughty in 7, and Markstorm who forgot which team he plays for isn't an accomplishment

Oilers need a goalie. With McDrai that team is capable of beating a lot of teams of any given night.

Sir Campbell, your flight to Edmonton departs in half an hour.

Lol.

Good for you. I didn’t say I wanted to switch teams with Edmonton. They sure as hell deserve more respect than what they‘re being given though.

Keep crying about bandwagon fans hurting your feelings though.

I don't think the Rangers series would be as exciting, even if it could be competitive.

I expect Colorado to carry the play vs whoever they face, but they give up chances, especially counter opportunities and both teams in the east are string counter offenses

I think I'll be fun watching Rangers' speed counter the Avs. And you know Fox and Makar will definitely put on a show

I'm actually curious how Bednar will approach the final if Franchez is still in net for them. Do you clamp down a bit and limit the chances against because he hasn't been good? But they'll be up against elite goaltending for once, so gotta keep the pressure on.

You don't have to praise them. I'm definitely not. I'm giving them respect for taking care of business and making it to semi finals. That is because it's been almost 20 years the Leafs have also taken care of business and got to the same point.

29 yrs and no Cup in Canada. Who knows what changes will happen but it looks like that streak will reach 35 yrs.

Why would someone who has watched his team win Cups switch to another team, especially when they've followed them for 60+ years, and never abandoned them throughout the 80's.

Of course there are probably some who never supported them through those dead years here. Kind of like lifelong VGK fans.

Even if the Leafs never win another playoff round, I've seen them hoist the Cup. :cf:

:naughty:

Leafs have the better team, they just have been unable to rise to any challenge.

Reality check: They're still in the Pacific next year. They very well can make it this far again. It's a joke division.

Conversely I think the Oilers would've been swept by Tampa Bay as well.

That's what I mean, this new division format makes no sense

The Atlantic is the toughest division in hockey and probably only going to get worse. It wouldn't shock me to see 5 Atlantic teams (if they don't beat up on each other)

We got 2 more 1st overalls joining the Atlantic next year (MTL and BUF).

Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa, Detroit are all coming up. Two of those 4 are adding 1st overall talents to their roster next year.

TB/FL/TOR/BOS also among the top teams in the league.

We may have the top 5-6 teams in the NHL next year and 2 of them are going to be forced into the Wild Card

Bruins are toast without Marchand, Bergeron another year older and Rask done for. I don't think they make the playoffs.

Definitely feels bad to see the ease at which playoff goals are scored in various series throughout the spring in do or die and close out scenarios and you think about how the Leafs managed 1 goal in the last 4 periods of play in the Tampa series.

It's funny that Smith gets blamed.

Oilers were wildly outplayed this series - Edmonton got much better goaltending than the Avs did.

Oilers are a tire fire generally, but if they had a somewhat normal and competent goalie they probably could have pushed it to 6 on the strength of pure track meet hockey.

All I know is that if the Avs get this goaltending in the finals they are screwed. You're not going to win a series against Vas or Shesterkin like this.

They were exposed as the trash conference finalist they were. The divisional playoff format is a real problem.
