Hoping it does not spread to the Blue and White. What do you mean by cancel the Olympic break ? Arenas will probably be booked those weeks so just get players to lay low.

Scotiabank is booked for 7 of the 16 days the Olympics are held... so, plenty of time to rebook the Leafs, if needed

I guess some games could be made up but they'd have to move quick. I'm guessing that the League would rather have the players bail out rather than mandating that they do so we wait to see if either blinks.

Watching Seattle play, it's like they have 12x Kerfoot's up front and 6x Justin Holl's on defense.

I am just surprised at how badly Seattle executed their expansion draft. They could have ended up with the same type of players and get a whole lot more in terms of assets if they were smarter.

Does Ontario really need to enforce the 50% capacity for Ottawa lol? No way their real attendance is above 50% haha.
It's a good way to pick on Toronto, without appearing to pick on Toronto.

After so many teams got burned by Vegas I dont think many were offering up as much this go around to protect certain players

Why not gather some picks then? If McPhee running the ED for Vegas is the case study on how to do things (immediate contender while also loaded with picks/prospects), Francis is the case study on how not to do it, not only did he build a terrible team he also picked up no picks or other assets of value.

And while Francis had to deal with so many teams being burned by deals with Vegas he also had the benefit of stepping into a flat cap situation with a blank slate. I'm not sure how he could have done a worse job.

I think Seattle is trying to tank and build from the draft up. That’s the only reason I can think of for some of their decisions.

I'm not sure that the idea wasn't to at least attempt trying to ice a competitive team immediately given the long-term contracts to Grubauer, Schwartz and Oleksiak. I think the salary cap also lessens the need to build a team too slowly. Can't disagree though that some puzzling decisions have been made.

Rumors of Babcock to the Oilers.

For the record, as a guy who wanted Babs gone from here I do think Babs was an upgrade on previous leafs coaches and think he'd be an upgrade in edmonton too.

Though it would be hilarious if he decided to only give McDrai 2 pp minutes per game like he did with our guys for some reason.

Somebody on the Fan 590 claimed Keefe has the same beliefs as Babs did (sans the garbage and and I'll add playoff experience - the good at least). Many thought he was brought it to coach fire wagon hockey but it has not been the case. Tend to agree from what I have been seeing since he took over.
