I would think that once he got out of Toronto he'd be hesitant to sign in another big media market.

He probably cashes in and goes to the highest bidder. If he is upset at the Leafs for dumping him, what better place to go than to Montreal? He probably returns to his old self after cashing in though IMO.

The recipe to beating the Leafs has been to force them to play outside their comfort zone.

The reports of Boston’s demise have been exaggerated

No idea how they keep doing this year after year despite continual thinning depth

Looks like elite players are much more important than depth, and Marchand/McAvoy/Bergeron/Pastrnak is still super elite.

That being said, their depth isn't that bad either.

The models I respect the most had Boston ad a top 5 team this year on paper. Not sure they're quite that good but I'm also not sure why everyone thought they'd be bad, tbh.

With age defying players... it's incredible really that Bergeron at 36 and Marchand at 33 (34 in May) continue to be Elite. I mean, I hate Marchand, yet how is it he still gets better every year, into his mid 30's? It's crazy. Everyone keeps thinking... oh, sooner or later they are going to drop off... and it keeps not happening.

It's cause players are in much better shape nowadays so they are going to have longer careers now.
