Little disappointed at timing of our game vs Edmonton as we could provide the springboard for them to get moving in the right direction (we've had a bad week or so plus injuries). It was incredibly satisfying last year when they were running high and we basically ripped their soul from their chest in that series.

The eastern playoff race is basically for positioning at this point.
Philly and the Islanders took all the drama and excitement out of the conference with their poor performances.

The Oilers spent a lot of money this off season to not meaningfully address any of their actual deficiencies from last season. You love to see it.

Holland might be worse than Chiarelli. The amount of negative value he has accumulated is staggering.

Another wasteful year and I wouldn’t be surprised if McDavid asks for a trade, who could blame him.

I get losing Price and Weber is big. But how they made that run... And how we lost to that team.... Just shows Paul MacLean was right. It's all demons at this point. Demons in their bed. In their car. etc...

What they actually lost from the playoffs:

Staal --- Danault --- Perry
Tatar --- Kotkaniemi --- Byron

Weber

Price

Montreal is finishing dead last. Fact

they are absolutely disgraceful. Haven’t watched a worse team in a long time.

Shane Wrigjt won’t help them either. They are decades away

Currently Toronto/Montreal standings are almost a mirror image

Of the possible 58 points we could have earned, we got 40, conversely the habs have lost out on 43 of a possible 58. I like this trend.

Ahh...yes.

Great memes were made from that series sweep.

Panthers/Avs should be a good game to watch tonight, as well as Minni/Vegas.
am i crazy or are the amount of "cool" match up's more this year?

,,with the rise of new teams to the elite lvl (min,Flo,Car/Edm,Rags,Calg,Ana)

and the established teams still hanging tough.

Can't think like that. Hopefully the Leafs will show up and break the Oilers a little more. As much as I love him, here's a great chance to make Hyman feel homesick too...

Think Arizona might have something to say about finishing dead last.

Though not sure what Shane Wright is projecting to be these days. His production to date in junior seems kind of mingy for a 1st overall shoo-in pick.

If you only look at the start of this season yes. He played zero games last season, put up amazing point totals for someone in their D-2 2 seasons ago, and completely dominated the U-18's as an underager. Make no mistake he is still a franchise level prospect, and the best Center to come into the draft since Matthews.

I know it’s a bit outdated, but I just wanted to bring up how I saw hymans play style against the canes:

to me the most noticeable difference was the fact that Hyman didn’t chip and chase the puck…. not once. His once bread and butter has become an afterthought or was in that game

It’s understandable that he plays with Mcdavid who’s the primary zone entry man, but from the 4-5 attempts I saw of Hyman, including the one where he supposedly got injured, he attempts to carry the puck in like a skilled winger

Not sure if this hymans more effective or not, but its a weird thing I noticed that game

If I had him on that contract I sure as shit wouldn't want him being a crash test dummy who's job is getting tackled by 2 D until someone can come pull the puck out of the scrum.

Fair point, but isn’t that taking his most valuable asset away?

Oilers have 4 years before Mcdavid and Draisaitl make a franchise altering decision of staying or not…. They can’t worry about 5 years from now. Hyman should be able to keep up his play style for 2-3 years minimum unless he has a freak injury. They’ll have to prove that they are a Stanley cup contender sooner rather than later for them to keep their generational talents

It’s like asking Tavares to not stand infront of the net…. Yea he can still play and be solid, but he’s far from his best

In my opinion, Hyman playing without chip and chase takes away a large portion of his game

I hate Florida, it feels like they never lose
Well they lost tonight in regulation. And with regards to how often they lose, they've lost a grand total of 9 games (including reg and OT/SO) and we've lost a grand total of 10 games. So they're fans (the few that there are) probably feel the same about us.

Rangers Panthers Wild Canes all lose in regulation.

About time they cooled off a bit.

Great night on the oots.

Injuries to Tavares and eventually Muzzin, Price going vintage, and terrible puck management decisions in critical moments. I’ll never forgive Galchenyuk for Game 5.
