According to CapFriendly:
*Conditions: The 2022 3rd round pick can upgrade to a 2nd round pick if the Penguins reach the 2020-21 Stanley Cup Final and Carter plays in at least 50% of the games.

**Conditions: The 2023 4th round pick can upgrade to a 3rd round pick if Carter plays in at least 50 games during the 2021-22 season

It's why you don't just "trade while his value is high."

If the Kings can't get that sort of production out of their forwards, it doesn't matter what value they get back.

Anyone who watched Carter this season knew that Carter wasn't trying on the Kings. He had rare games where he'd try and look really good. The only people who thought Carter was done weren't watching closely because he was only done with the Kings. I don't know what it is personally with the Kings where our offense always sucks, I seriously don't get it. But yeah, kinda does suck to see how easily he's scoring now.
