yup, he couldn't stay healthy when he was on the cusp of making the NHL. I hope for him cause his name just sounds so damn cool. Like Johnny Bravo.

I'm not privy to any of the nuts and bolts of the facts. And bankruptcy law is well outside any experience I've had. So best guess is it's possible. Kane does have top notch bankruptcy attorneys. That's the one smart thing he's done.

The sale of his watches to pay off gambling debts potentially falls into the 90 day bankruptcy preference window. It's likely that all or some portion of it will be returned to the debtor for later allocation. Taxes, court costs, whatever. There is a certain order of payment in bankruptcy law.

But that raises the issue of if the money went directly to a casino to pay off a NV marker. Because a preference determination means the casino marker is now not paid. It may be in the casino's interest to get the DA to file fraud charges. If it's a NV marker and if the DA doesn't file charges, then the casino could lose the right to get paid that money. It's trickey because that's now a deportation offense if this gets him a felony record.

A few ifs but we all know how much Kane likes vegas casinos.

A shadow of his former self. Injuries are surely taking a toll. That contact..jeebus, six more years ($11.5 million per) after this one including a NMC. Good to see the Sharks are going to get f***ed for years on that one.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it up to LA when there was a popup Mooby's. I was going through my stuff and found that I own a copy of Clerks 2 on HD-DVD (hopefully I bought it for pennies on the dollar when the format went belly up).

Decent article by Corey Pronman on available undrafted free agents: Top free agents from college hockey and Europe: Pronman ranks the best players available to NHL teams

Felt like he had to go out of his way to mention how most of the guys are AHL caliber since many people give unrealistic expectations for these kind of guys. That said, I have liked what I've seen from Matt Kiersted out of North Dakota.
