Sources: NBA mulls moving games due to virus

If the virus clusters and forces a team out of its city and arena for a period of time, there has been discussion about moving games to the away opponent's arena if that city hasn't suffered an outbreak -- or even moving games to neutral cities and sites, league sources told ESPN.
lol What a mess.

NCAA Basketball tourny to be held w/o fans.

Elliotte Friedman's 30 thoughts, column to start was a good read on Jim Montgomery, what he went thur and how had it was for him to face his issues and deal with them

From the 30 thoughts

31 Thoughts: Examining potential NHL fallout of COVID-19 - Sportsnet.ca

5. The fact fan/media/staff exposure to players is being cut while 20,000 fans are being allowed into (some) arenas says one thing to me: that the NHL (and other leagues) realize that if a player needs to be quarantined, games are endangered.
How many people would have to be isolated? Teammates? Staff? Opponents? Just the most recent opponents, or those going back several games? You can play without fans, although it is not what anyone wants. You can’t play without players. It’s why I understand this as a temporary measure.

30. In case you missed it, Chris Johnston reported the Draft Lottery will take place on the second night of the NHL playoffs — April 9 — at the NHL Network studios.

What is a temporary measure? They think this is blowing over in a week? If you're talking canceling the spectators, you're including the playoffs at this point. I mean, if it's that bad, why are the airports still open?

I dunno, neutral sites may be a viable alternative if it comes to it. There are a number of states with zero cases, but that may change as more testing is done.

The Golden State Warriors told the local officials to pound sand when it was suggested the Warriors cancel their home games or play them without fans in attendance.

The NCAA just announced the men's and women's basketball tournaments will be conducted without fans in attendance. Attendees will be limited to essential staff and limited family attendance.

They may as well play these games in much smaller venues after making this decision.

Important to remember and keep in perspective. There have been 37 deaths in the United States thus far, and 19 of those 37 deaths occurred at a nursing home in the Seattle area. Many people will catch this virus. If you catch it, stay away from people who are at risk; the elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system.

The mortality rate may not be as serious at it appears as many cases have not been reported and people have already recovered. The U.S. numbers are slightly inflated due to the infection of high-risk people in the nursing home.

Jackets home game w/o fans.

Jackets will miss their fans, loud and proud, esp vs Pens who they have a rivarly with

The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they will play tomorrow night’s home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with restricted attendance. The game will be closed to the public, with admission limited to club personnel, credentialed media, broadcast partners, NHL officials and essential arena staff.

...but, but I need to buy $100 worth of toilet paper at Costco, then try to find a place to store it in my home.
