Confident it won't affect the games
Maybe someone really doesn’t want these games played? Seems way to coincidental.

Calgary and Edmonton will fight tooth and nail to stay in the same division. “Battle of Alberta” and all that.I think the Calgary/Edmonton to the Central and moving Colorado back to the Pacific is a much better option. It will also help stoke the Vancouver/Seattle rivalry. No need for Vancouver and Calgary/Edmonton to remain in the Pacific Division.
I think the suggestion was to move Calgary and Edmonton to the other division, then keep Phoenix and add Seattle and Colorado to the Pacific.Calgary and Edmonton will fight tooth and nail to stay in the same division. “Battle of Alberta” and all that.
Vancouver would have Seattle, which is just 140 miles away, and an old rivalry from their days in the WHL. I don't think Phoenix should get screwed over having to take every road trip in their division back to the Midwest or up to Winnipeg and Minnesota. Those are incredibly long flights, and aren't necessary when they can make road trips to greater LA, the bay area, Denver, and Vegas for half of their in-division road games. Not sure Vancouver wants the be the sole Canadian team in a division though. Winnipeg has less leg to stand on, since they're happy just to have a team again.
Btw, it's been almost 10 years since the Thrashers moved. Huh?
I think this is probably the best solutionI think the suggestion was to move Calgary and Edmonton to the other division, then keep Phoenix and add Seattle and Colorado to the Pacific.
The Pacific would be:
Anaheim
Arizona
Colorado
Los Angeles
San Jose
Seattle
Vancouver
Vegas
The Central would be:
Calgary
Chicago
Dallas
Edmonton
Minnesota
Nashville
St. Louis
Winnipeg
Every division in the NHL would have eight teams.

Looks like the Canes are parting ways with John Forslund. He's been with the organization since 1991 did play by play for Whalers games and broadcasting for them for over 20 years. I like him and I think he's pretty respected around the league, he won't be unemployed long. He will be doing the playoff games for NBC this year.

The Pacific Division I proposed would look a lot like the old Western Hockey League, which played its last season with the following teams:This would be perfect.
Would you rather have the #2 pick....or a .500 team in the play-in round? Ignoring the fact that one of those play-in losers will get the #1 pick. I think i'd rather have the #2.

I think all of the speculation is based on keeping Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary together in the same division. I don't think that should be a priority, since Vancouver will have a natural rival in Seattle coming into the league. It makes no sense to screw Arizona over so badly. While this makes a lot of sense, almost all the written speculation I read previously was that when Seattle comes in, Arizona was getting the shaft and being moved to the Central.
About damn time. Really curious what they're going to go for.
