Tavares exits the ice to a fan tossing his JT jersey down on him. Love it.
I don't understand fans getting so angry at a guy who played really well and played out his entire contract with the same team. It's free agency. It's not like Tavares screwed the Islanders over or sabotaged the team in some way.

Many Islanders fans feel he misled the team when they could have traded him at the deadline rather than losing him to free agency. Think about how mad people were when Blake left to the Sharks.

But that was because he blocked a trade to the sharks.

Fans are aloud to boo, but I typically only agree with it if the player demands a trade, says something negatively about the city or team, or refuses to waive a no move and then leaves.

If he never intended to re-sign as they claim, he should have been traded. But that doesn't matter. It's all about how they perceive it. They're fans after all.

I think that was part of it. He didn't have a NMC, but did ask not to be traded at the deadline, and then left.

Sens fire Boucher (who IMO was not the issue/problem) Marc Crawford 'interim' coach.

Sens high up front office, a mess.
Why fire the guy with 20 games left??? Too many mistakes (management level) have led to the Sens mess and it's been ongoing for years
Boucher should land on his feet somewhere.

Dorion said he made the decision last night because it was 'time to move on' Okay, in March...that's when it 's time to move on?
I don't think this came from Dorion, I think the owners forced his hand.
Until they clean up the penthouse, they will stay in the outhouse

They need Melnyk to sell the team, otherwise it’s goung to be the same old shit.

He’s like Jerry Jones, minus the cash.

they should be booing snow for at least not dealing his rights.

Booing in one thing, what went on last night and in the days leading up to it, was embarrassing. JT carried that team for years and busted his butt on every shift. I couldn't believe the amount of venom that was raining down. Just an awful display.

if the 1-3-1 comes to LA I don't know if I can watch.
This is excellent hockey. Kings can keep games close until they go for it with less than a minute in the third period.

Different sport, same idea. Put your opponent to sleep. Before the shot clock in college basketball.

I can’t see Marco Sturm as the head coach. They interviewed him on the bench during last nights game and I had a hard time understanding him. That could have been because of the noisy interview or the fact I was drunk. But, I think whoever the next coach is, great communication skills are gonna be needed to get the most out of the leaders of this team.

Tavares d*cked around the team all year and got nothing for him in return. Let the fans air out their grievances by having some fun with it. What are you smoking? Did you think they would cheer him? C'mon.

I personally think throwing jerseys/etc is pretty silly. Then again, I don't have that sort of disposable income.

But I also completely understand the fans not liking him and fully endorse the chants they shouted.

He just didn't seem genuinely interested in signing with the Isles, and admitted he didn't want Toronto to trade assets for him. So he was basically looking out for Toronto's best interests while still working for NYI.

I just think he was negotiating in bad faith the whole time.

Granted, he fought hard for 9 years, but it kinda goes out the window with that behavior.

You gotta give it to the Isles fans, I enjoyed the rip fest they gave Tavares just because they were original and not a canned jumbo tron chant. The maybe I will maybe I wont sign garbage is what drew their ire and it would have made me, as a fan, angry too.
