I can't stand listening to "analysts" like Stoll, O'Donnell, Anson Carter ect.

These guys, like most hockey analysts, have ZERO to say. No real opinions, no interesting insight. All they do is regurgitate hockey cliches they've heard elsewhere. BORING. That's part of the reason why hockey broadcasts in America are so bad. Every team's intermission report has a Jarret Stoll-type talking about "getting pucks in deep."

Cherry is controversial, opinionated, speaks his mind and is passionate about the game and the commentary he's giving. I enjoy when him and Ron MacLean point out all the little stuff and interesting nuances that go on in around the game that most viewers would never notice otherwise.

I'll take Coach's Corner over any Kings intermission any day.

I don't agree with all of Cherry's opinions but it doesn't change my enjoyment of his segments.

I don’t disagree that the average hockey segment is cliche and pointless, but Cherry isn’t “controversial”, he’s a racist :eek::eek::eek::eek:, and that is never defensible.

The Blackhawks are going to make the playoffs. They have no defense or goaltending it's all offense.

DeBrincat is a hell of a player. Kane is one of the best players in the game. Toews looks really good. Strome is producing at an 80 point pace since coming over.

Imagine if they still had Panarin. They'd be a lot of fire power up front.

No, it's really not, I am going to assume you are talking about his supposed put downs of Europeans etc, that doesn't stem from xenophobia, that stems from what he thinks is the right or wrong way to play the game and that has nothing to do with what country you are from etc.

No, that’s exactly what it is. It’s pretty clear he generally feels good ol’ boy Canadians (or even North Americans) play the game he “right way,” while “others” play the game the “wrong way.” Just because he doesn’t come out and explicitly say “I hate Russians” doesn’t mean he’s not prejudiced against, or views as inferior, players of other national origins.

Again, not the case, he's not afraid to call out anyone, (ala Brind'amour and the idiotic celebrations) or praise players (Ovechkin, Forsberg) for playing the right way, or wrong way.

Step away from his video's, the rock'em sock'em etc, that's nonsense, and it was done to sell the videos, listen to him about what he says, he believes, (rightly or wrongly) there is a certain way you play the game, if you don't play it that way, he will call you out regardless of nationality (rightly or wrongly) and if you do, he will let you know etc....

If all you do is fall for soundbites and overblown media nonsense, then sure that's all you are going to hear.

He called Mario Lemieux a floater when he first entered the league. He is brash and talks out of his arse sometimes but a racist?
