Pirri has 5 goals & 2 assists in 6 games this year as a Center for Vegas.
I read in another thread that he is no longer a 1 trick pony, so there is hope Sprong becomes more than a guy with a nice shot.

Pirri's 1st point last night was a primary assist in setting up Statsny goal & then scores one later in the game.

The offensive talent has always been evident with Pirri as well as his physical and defensive limitations. His biggest problem has been staying healthy.

Good for ovie sitting out the all star game. Bit of a sham anyway.

Wouldn't mind if Gibson also sat out or Getzlaf. Whomever we send.

Think Gibson is a lock to go for us but if Getzlaf somehow got selected I would imagine he sits also, he’s looked hurt most of the season.

Lucky for us our team has been that underwhelming that we likely only have one representative going.

Is it not still a suspension if you sit the game out and you’re not legitimately injured? (As in, you’re not sitting games out for your team).

Yeah it’s still a one game suspension. In guys like Ovi or Getzlafs case that one game is probably worth it though in terms of rest.

speaking of the AS game i see the league still refuses to have the ducks host one (draft too)

Does anyone think the Sharks aren't a contender? I fear this could be their year. If they had a better goalie I think they'd be the best team in the conference by a decent margin

Ducks haven't played a game as entertaining as that COL-SJ game was the entire season

Jones is all that stops me from thinking they’re the favorites in the West. Karlsson is starting to look himself and Burns is going to hit 70+ points again. Vlasic is having a horrible year but he can’t get any worse than he’s already been.

On a completely different note McDavid has factored into 54% of the Oilers goals this season. It’s ridiculous how bad their depth is past their best three forwards.

And most believe that Draisaitl can't produce without being attached at the hip to McDavid. They really don't have any depth.

If Draisaitl played against the Ducks for 82 games a season he might hit 82 goals in a season, that guy tries to show the Ducks up so much as though he's saying "Trade for me, i want to play for a City with a German name".

I still have them below Nashville and Winnipeg personally. And if Rittich keeps giving them goaltending, I'd put Calgary above San Jose with Jones. You can win with 'okay' goaltending yes, but Jones can't even give .900 goaltending - there is no way you're going deep in the playoffs with that sort of performance let alone win the whole thing.

San Jose with a good goaltender are as good as anyone in the West, San Jose with Jones are 4th at best in the West and not a serious contender imo.

I had them losing in SCF to Tampa, and I still think that happens. I think they beat Nashville in WCF. People will say Rinne>Jones as the difference but Rinne seems to choke when they need him most.

It may be the homer in me, but until someone proves otherwise the Knights should be the favorite to come out of the Pacific. They have the best goalie of the team's likely to get in. They've got 2 really dangerous scoring lines, bordering on 3 if Pirri stays with Stastny-Tuch, as well as one of the best 4th lines in the league. The only real question mark is Holden/Engelland and that can easily be addressed with a rental 4/5 D pickup.

They had a slow start because of injuries and Schmidt being suspended, but since he came back they're 16-4-3.

With scoring way up this year in the league, it benefits players like Pirri where they can make the most of it. Glad to see he's playing very well.

Ovi hits 30 yet again. He’s still yet to not hit 30 in any season of his career including the lockout.

And I think Kucherov is going to hold off against McDavid to win the Art Ross this season. Dude deserves some serious hart consideration, he’s the best winger in the game and it’s not particularly close.

5 forwards and the Kings have to respect Stamkos' one timer so he just fakes it and passes to a guy with a wide open net.

Another reason Getz needs to shoot more on the PP. Teams don't expect him to shoot so the pk team knows to defend the pass with him.

It is stunning how easily Tampa can get seam passes through other team's pk though.

This game needs to get nastier LA's brilliant PBP guy was commenting on a picture from 1993, "before playoff beards were a thing". I know he's young but come on..
