Of course there's always the possibility of drugs/alcohol but it seems rather early in the morning for that.

Unless you were up all night partying.

I mean, the way I see it the only people who go swimming at 5:30 am are either health fanatics or on all-nighters. Of course, given he was a professional athlete it's quite possible he was the former.

Columbus GM meeting Panarin in France tomorrow

he could be moved before the seasons start if he isn't re-signing
Now that is a fascinating prospect. Because the bread man is the real thing, a transformative player.

He’s better than Tavares, much more dynamic in my eyes than JT. Single handedly the difference in our season series’s with them last year. (Remember that second game when we were up two zip at home and then he got going, stealing a puck from Severson, wheeling, dealing, dishing out three assists in like five minutes?). And how he looked against the Caps in the playoffs.

Of course they will never deal him here. Nor do we even remotely have the pieces they’d need to compensate for him. I’d be shocked if he’s moved within the division or even the conference. Nashville should want him badly - but on the other hand, the last thing Columbus needs is still more defense. Dallas? Also where would he want to go and be likely to resign?

Chicago made a huge mistake trading him last year.

Watch this situation with interest.

This will be an interesting situation to follow. We definitely don't have the assets to acquire him, but nonetheless I hope Ray is calling in on the bread man, because he's an incredible talent.

After what Evander Kane got, I wonder if Henrique gets $6 million per year? Kane got $7 per year and is a little bit better than Henrique, but his production isn't that much greater. I know Doug Wilson also overpays everybody over the last year, so who knows?

Johansson is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer but production wise he's been relatively similar to Rico. So it's something to keep in mind during this season if you want MoJo for years 28-33 at 5+ million or do you think somebody like Boqvist would be ready to step in in 2019-20. Those 5M range contracts add up fast.
