Columbus GM meeting Panarin in France tomorrow
he could be moved before the seasons start if he isn't re-signing
Now that is a fascinating prospect. Because the bread man is the real thing, a transformative player.
He’s better than Tavares, much more dynamic in my eyes than JT. Single handedly the difference in our season series’s with them last year. (Remember that second game when we were up two zip at home and then he got going, stealing a puck from Severson, wheeling, dealing, dishing out three assists in like five minutes?). And how he looked against the Caps in the playoffs.
Of course they will never deal him here. Nor do we even remotely have the pieces they’d need to compensate for him. I’d be shocked if he’s moved within the division or even the conference. Nashville should want him badly - but on the other hand, the last thing Columbus needs is still more defense. Dallas? Also where would he want to go and be likely to resign?
Chicago made a huge mistake trading him last year.
Watch this situation with interest.
