I gotta saying it was interesting reading comments from the main boards about Quick being terrible when their top guys were playing like trash.
Who else thinks the biggest problem with the US team was leaving Brown off? He's just the heart and soul of that team.
ok... I can't keep a straight face after saying that.
We all know he can score goals, we just need to make sure he's not coming back in a body bag!
That pass was filthy.
I bet Brown would have played better than half the USA forwards though. Lewis would have as well. Team USA has been hot garbage all around.
Dustin Brown (International play) has 31 points in 44 games, that's actually pretty good.
Trevor Lewis is a PPG at the International level, HAHA ( 9 points in 10 games.)
It is what it is, Team USA is not very good. Also the talent pool to choose from, is just not very good either.
The talent pool is actually decent if they allowed the under 23 group of kids to play for their respective countries. There's a lot of solid American and Canadian kids on that squad. Eichel and Matthews alone would have made the US much better down the middle.
I love Hull's commentary. He just said Kopitar is too good to do a move like that in regards to his lame backhand penalty shot attempt.
We all know what he's talking about from his lame shootout attempts.
Injuries are dismantling teams before the season even starts.
there may not be NHL players in the Olympics for the first time since 1994 http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/17589365/no-progress-talks-nhl-olympic-officials-participation
This was my (and i'm sure many others) fear about the tournament.
Gaudreau would've really helped on the wing too.
With Europes win today, the USA is pretty much ****. They have to win both games and have a better goal differential should both team end up tied. Right now they'll need 7 goals just to tie them.
Can the Kings buy Connor McDavid for $15 million?

USA lines: Parise-Kesler-Wheeler, Abdelkader-Stepan-Kane, JVR-Pavelski-Oshie, Pacioretty-Dubinsky/Backes-Palmieri. Backes & Dubinsky rotated
Looks like Big Byf might be back in

Jack Johnson didn't take rushes in practice on a D pair. USA D pairs were McDonagh-Carlson, Suter-Niskanen, EJohnson-Byfuglien.
Best news I've heard in awhile. I very much prefer stories like the 1980 US team, Ray LeBlanc, etc. Plus the idea of a Swiss Latvian or other lesser known hockey team would be great for the game on an international level.
It also makes the World Championships and World Cup meaningful.
At some point injuries are just injuries. They can happen now, or in mid December, or whenever. The league and the PA signed up for this.
