I think this is Deans big opportunity if he can make it happen. Trouba will be a huge addition to our team .

Package Mcnabb with others. I think Mcnabb has great potential and will be a fine dman someday but i believe Gravel if given the opportunity will be a blessing for us . He has speed can move the ouck quickly , has a long stick and plays great D . He would be an ideal partner for Doughty . Like a Willie Mitchell. Just have to give him the chance to show what hes got .

You have to get rid of hasbeens like Scuderi and Greene so the cal works . Plus i grew to love Muzzin now . I used to be his biggest hater but man has he grown on me . He still makes some boneheaded mistakes that leads to a goal against but he makes us much better and is a legit #2 now

Or if Mcnabb is not enough then u package Martinez with others . Martinez is a very underrated dman but he is one of the few trade chips we have . And with Clague , Cernak and Ladue in the system and Forbort and Gravel coming up i believe Martinez is expendable

I don't know who would be considered similar to a package of Tim Gleason and Eric Belanger, but if Winnipeg asked for Brayden McNabb and either Kempe or Pearson, it's something to think about.

Does that cap work for us though? Perhaps Martinez and Pearson. Then it begs the question of whether its worth trading our loyal boys for a rattle shaker.

WPG seems pretty set at FWD and needs a top pair LHD. Either Martinez or Muzzin.... Kings can't afford to lose anymore goal scoring talent from the FWD group at this point.

This isn't Carolina coming off a Cup win, with Johnson wanting to stay in school for another year, and needing to replace some talent that left in free agency.

Trouba is a RFA looking for how much? Brown is never going anywhere. Gaborik is still around. Kopitar got $3m more dollars on the cap. You have to give Toffoli or Muzzin just to make the future cap hit work on whatever Trouba will end up signing for. Martinez would work too in terms of contract, but they're not taking Martinez for Trouba.

Moreover, the first goal wasn't due to the two on one from JB's missed pinch or Price not stopping the shot it was because Price couldn't trust Doughty to stop the two on one pass!

Johnson hasn't played in the NHL at that point he was still in college.
Trouba has played 3 full seasons.
He won't go near that cheap.

It does help the team. They get younger, fill the 2nd pair RHD spot. It opens a LHD spot that the Kings have lots of people to fill. The other option is to keep playing Martinez on his off side or wait for a top4 RHD to develop.

Don't think WPG would be interested in Pearson or Toffoli. They just got a high draft pick forward and have some good young ones. They'll be looking for a LHD to play with Buff. Signed on the cheap would help too.

But Winnipeg doesn't really need another winger though. Wheeler, Ehlers, Laine. Take Trouba out, and it's Byfuglien, Myers, and then what on defense?

It would be a tough trade for the Kings to be able to make. The Jets have some cap space, but the Kings can't dump anyone on them. Maybe if you did Pearson, Martinez, and McNabb, that could work with the cap. That would open up enough space for the Kings to sign Trouba, but it chips away at depth for the Kings, and who knows if the Jets would want to do a quantity deal.

Hard to do with so many big contracts for the Kings.

The least polarizing name player on the Kings is Kopitar. That's just how it is. Probably because there's really no argument who the best center in the league is. It's Crosby, everyone is waiting for McDavid, and then it's a bunch of guys.

Schnider plays one period and doesn't give up a goal in a meaningless game and everyone says he should've been the starter. They all seemed to forget how shakey he was in game 2 , giving up 4 goals vs Canada in the pre-lims.

Dude is a great volume goaltender and absolutely one of the best in the world, but he doesn't have that something special about him. And that drives the stat people crazy because there's nothing more to goaltending than raw save percentages.

Quick can give up 2 goals and face 20 shots..he sucks
Schneider can give up 2 goals on 30 shots and he's lightyears better.

That of course is the problem. The Kings don't have enough quality D as it is. They cannot give up Muzzin or Martinez. They also have to free up cap space. The idea that Winnipeg has all these forwards better than Toffoli (as others seem to claim) is ludicrous.
