The deciding Game 5 of the Clark Cup Final (USHL) between Chicago and Sioux City is in sudden death.

Would be amazing if this ever happened again in the NHL, could you imagine the pressure.

I live in Mission Viejo and drive to SJC. Lots less Ducks flags today.
Hopefully none by Friday. No one at work asked me " did you see the game?"

I live in MV as well and while I see my fair share of Ducks flags, I see a lot of Kings license plate frames and bumper stickers.

I have a question about these annoying Discover commercials. Are the two people talking on the phone supposed to be the same person? I can't really tell.

Yeah, because their marketing line is "We treat you like you'd treat you!" And that they're the same person.

That would mean one of Subban or Karlsson would win the Cup.

Thought that was impossible :)

I was beating that Subban will never win a Cup drum very loud when he was on Montreal because I think Montral was and is grossly overrated team. Their offense is horrific and their defense is a 100% reliant on Price.

I have no doubt he can win a Cup in Nashville because they are a vastly superior and deeper team.

I want to watch Karlsson and Ryan, but I don't want to watch Ottawa's system. Them playing for the cup could be bad for the game as it could encourage copycats.

Only three active coaches have reached the Cup Finals three times. Let that sink in for a second.

Laviolette is about to join that group. He'll be the only one to do so with three different teams. Tells you what a great coach he is.

And why currently, Scotty Bowman stands on top of the coaching great mountain. 9 Cup finals, 4 cups with 4 different teams.

Man knew his stuff.

If Nashville does win, Lavvy would be only the 2nd coach in NHL history to win with 2 different teams. But I don't think they'll win, weak down the middle and it will catch up to them, unless Rinne continues to carry them.

Marleau would provide some much needed speed....guy can still fly.

Tempting but no, he shifted down the lineup for a reason plus he wants (according to those infamous 'sources close to the situation' at least 3 yrs. Too much talent out there and being tied down to an aging , albeit talented, player that close to 40, I think I'd look elsewhere, esp if he wants 4-5M per.

Can't believe Carlyle and Kesler cried about the scheduling. The Kings went through bunch of game sevens but you never heard them complaining. What a bunch of pathetic losers.

To be fair, Sutter's most frequent excuse/complaint was the schedule. Would not be surprised if he mentioned it during one of the playoff runs.

Still, win Game 6 against Edmonton. Not sure why that game was on a Sunday and they played Game 7 Wednesday but maybe there was something going on at Honda Center that Tuesday.

I have no problem with Carlyle. I enjoy listening to him. I found the remarks to be laughable, but I like him as a coach.

Kesler on the other hand is a complete fool. How can someone root for this guy? Acts like a complete **** on the ice, flops around, shoots his mouth off, and never delivers in big moments.

Johansen hit the nail on the head during a face off against him - "You're a ****ing loser, nobody likes you"

Maybe you're right, but if you can't show up to an elimination game that's all on them. Nashville was missing there top two centers, Ducks had an advantage but didn't deliver. And if Richie was smart he wouldn't have gotten a game misconduct, he might have been able to help them

Didn't know he said that, that's great.

Where you read that about Kessler? I want to share it with my duck fan friends

It would be doubly amazing if they were mic'd up for that.

Joe Thornton is thought to be looking at a 3yr deal in the 5M per range. He thinks that they would be more inclined to sign Big Joe but not Marleau as they also have Martin Jones and Vlasic to extend contracts to.

SJ would be wise to move on from both and let the new core take it's place. I thought about the Kings signing Thornton and moving Carter to wing but coming off major knee surgery, age and his contract demands I think he might be in for a bit of a reality check this July. Players at his age do not bounce back right away from double ligament replacement surgery without PED's.

I dislike Bieska big time, he's a spot picker and a bully, but hard to hate Kesler if you are a Team USA or World Cup fan - he always plays hard for USA and came up big in 2010.

ya the four game sweep over the flames really hurt them
