There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and the Sharks and Ducks choking in the playoffs.

Gotta love Ducks fans complaining that Nashville dives and plays dirty, BTW. Have they watched their own team this decade?

Is it safe to say that BigKing is the most relieved from the Ducks loss? I felt concerned for him as these series went along. :handclap:

beauty. thanks. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

If it is indeed Pittsburgh then the Preds are going to have big issues down the middle.

I think they can win,
but Pittsburgh is going to be a significant favorite.

as much as I'd like that, I'm not so sure. Poile should have never signed RIberio and Fischer to those contracts two years ago. Both UFA's after this season so they'll get 8M back.

You need solid center depth, contributions from all and they haven't gotten that. Depending far too much on Rinne. THey'll need a lot more to get 4 out of 7 in the next round. And as much as I hate the Pens, they have been here before and that helps. ANd so far, despite injuries piling up, they have managed to get by

Never could understand why Poile never put centers high on the importance chart. Johanson helped but beyond that, they are a bit thin in the top 6 centers area. Kamenev, some kid they took in 2014 is supposed to be NHL ready.
But Rinne won't last forever.

Brendan Smith eyeing the market

His agent said he'll for fair market value, whether it be NY or elsewhere

“He’s looking for a good fit with a good organization, and the Rangers certainly qualify. But to pass up free agency, Brendan’s going to need a contract that reflects market value.”

Nikita Kucherov has two years left on his deal at a $4.76 million cap hit and he could end up costing them more than Steven Stamkos‘ $8.5 million on his next deal.

“We’ll have to make sure we have the cap space available, assuming he continues on the career path he’s on,” Yzerman said on WDAE-AM 620 on Thursday. “I expect him to be even better. We’ll be prepared for that when the time comes.”

I drive from LB to Mission Viejo for work every day so I'm in the heart of Duck Country.

I also have my five year bet with a best friend who is a Ducks fan and a legendary, former HF Ducker. $1,000 for which team has the best five year run. Bet was made in anger after Game 4 of the 2013 WCFs and began in 2014.

Fortunately, the Kings won the Cup in 2014 so I win the bet as long as the Ducks don't win a title. I've been holding on for dear life ever since. One more year to go. Safe to say that Nashville is my favorite team after the Kings.

More than that though, a Ducks championship puts us all right back to where we were with the Ducks prior to winning in 2012, IMO. Maybe not as bad since the Kings hadn't won anything in 2007 but we'd be back to having nothing to say after the past three seasons.

I'm still not gloating because we don't have anything to talk about after the past three seasons but, still, it's 2-1 while beating them in the playoffs on the way to #2. I'd like this count to continue for a very long time if the Kings aren't going to make it three any time soon.

I don't think Fisher was a bad deal at all, the hit was a little high but the term was not.

A buddy of mine at work (Big Kings fan) forwarded this to me earlier today because his friend is the guy that started it.

Interestingly enough, not a Trump supporter. I was thrown off by the Snowflake comment but, nope, big anti-Trump guy apparently.

As an aside, I thought he used the "F" word that is used as a slur against those in the LGBT community. When I found out it was the rooster-based comment, I don't think there should have been anything made out of it. Surprises me that it is considered a slur as it is a term that can be applied to both heterosexual and homosexual people.

Cheers to that. We need a third cup pronto.

Only three active coaches have reached the Cup Finals three times. Let that sink in for a second.

Laviolette is about to join that group. He'll be the only one to do so with three different teams. Tells you what a great coach he is.

I live in Mission Viejo and drive to SJC. Lots less Ducks flags today.
Hopefully none by Friday. No one at work asked me " did you see the game?"

When I listened closely, I could actually hear BigKing's fist clenching as the series went along

I was resigned to the Ducks winning the Cup after the CryJo injury. Was busy all Saturday and didn't even know when the game started because it wasn't going to matter.

I check the score around 7PM and the game is already over and they lost. Then I read no Rakell and Gibson got hurt. Could not effing believe it.

So relieved. That wasn't my fist clenching, it was my sphincter.

Will be joined by Sutter if he coaches again in the right situation.
