Does it work for the Browns?
I ran that one earlier. They are going to need to go scorched earth for a while. I don't think they can trade Garrett pre-June 1st, which is why I used 2026 and 2027 picks for the Bills. The Browns will need to trade/restructure virtually all their big contracts just to make it through the next two years.

If they are smart, they'll target the QBs in the next two drafts (2026 and 2027) and work towards that.

If they trade Garrett post-June 1st, the numbers work with some restructuring and void years. But they won't be competitive for 2-3 years. With Watson on the roster, it was going to be that way anyway. They are already in a cap hole right now for 2025 without even factoring in draft picks.

Quick off-season plan (did it on Spotrac, everything worked):

Restructures:
Oliver
Knox
Samuel

Cut:
Miller

Early extensions:
Cook
Benford
Shakir

Free Agent:
Levi Wallace, CB

Trades:
- Elam to the Giants for Jalin Hyatt, WR
- 2026 1st, 2027 1st, 2026 3rd, 2027 6th to Cleveland for Garrett, 2026 7th and 2026 3rd (Mack trade)

Draft (mostly just picking the BPA as it aligned to need)

I'd try to add another CB at some point, but I think this would put the Bills is a great position to make a run the next few years.

Truly like it. But wow. Top 7 picks all on D side of the ball, plus add in trading two 1sts for Garrett. That's a MASSIVE influx of assets on one side of the ball.

I'd probly like to see one of those top 3 picks this year on the O.

Is there a premier pass rusher coming out of college this year ? And if so, where is he expected to go in the draft? Maybe it'd be easier for the Bills to trade up and get him ??

Today's effort. I went with Williams and Collins in the 2nd round. I like both as traitsy athletes. The rest were BPA by tier, though I am not a fan of PFNs rankings. My assumption was any Garrett trade would be with 2026 and 2027 picks and after June 1st.

Where would you take him? One of our seconds? More of a day 3 guy?
I took him in the 2nd because I think he’s going to test well.

TCU used him as a wildcat QB and RB at times. And he was good at both. Because they run a spread horizontal timing offensive, he wasn’t used deep a lot, but at 6-5, he was good when they threw him the ball on vertical routes. I think he’s going to run in the 4.4s based on what I’ve seen in games.

Browns have $40 mill in dead cap for 2025 already mostly from cooper and smith. Garrett is $36 mill dead cap if moved before June 1. Can split that over 2 seasons if moved post June. But have to make that deal unofficially to allow new club time and planning contract wise.

He is due a bonus in March but if he agrees to alter that into a base salary then Clev won’t have to pay it. Once dealt he can redo his deal to get a SB and like $80 mill plus guaranteed.

My wife speculated (don’t know if she saw a media source) that Browns may be in their rights to void Watson contract as he had some kind of car issue / roadside assistance with a girlfriend where he was filmed without a boot after his Achilles rupture and Browns could argue he wasn’t following medical authority for his recovery.

If browns could void Watson, landscape changes.

Might it make more sense to target Crosby? Younger. Huge JA fan. Not as good a pass rusher as Myles and he is coming off an ankle surgery, but a trade might be more doable if Vegas is willing to move him without the cap complications.

If the Bills miss trading for someone, who are the edge rushers with his ceiling this draft? Max was a 4th round pick. In my head, it’ll be the end of the world if we don’t nab someone this offseason who can pressure consistently, but I try and remind myself that it could very well be a blessing in disguise if we stand pat with our picks.

There are like 7-8 edge/DE’s that could go in the first round this year. And another 3-4 DT’s. In a perfect world we find a way to draft a Nolen, Harmon or Williams to compliment Ed, and an edge rusher which will improve the entire dline as a whole.

I love some of the CB’s and Safety’s but I can’t fathom the idea of investing our top 2-3 picks on one when we drastically need help on the Dline. I don’t want to see Beane select 8-10 picks this draft. Go out swinging. Roll the dice and bundle some of those picks and aim for guys that may have a lower floor but a high ceiling — like a Maxx Crosby.

My dream scenario is trading for Myles or Maxx and still being able to add one of those higher rated DT’s.

IF Crosby is available, then we are lucky as hell. We have two shots to get a high caliber DE. I want Garrett because he's ELITE, and gives us the best shot to win a SB in 3 years, and assuming Allen has about 6 ish years left of his prime, give me the player who maximizes our chances for a couple of years.

That being said, if we miss out on Myles, and are 'stuck' with Crosby- I'll still be a happy man. Him and Rousseau on the outside would be awesome.

If we aren't bringing back Douglas at CB2, we need to draft a CB in round 2 at the latest. It's a much bigger need than WR imo. The off-season you showed with Levi Wallace as CB2 feels too precarious to make a SB run.

I do like Grant a ton though.

Just take Isas Waxter on Day 3 and you are good with the Villanova duo at CB.
