Wilson didn't get that he was spared in his last questionable hit, so Parros beat him over the head with the rulebook on this one. This is why you get the players on the first offense if you're gonna crack down on contact to the head(regardless of context like accidental and such).

One thing that pisses me off from watching the Sharks play is that their defense tries their absolute best to keep the puck in the offensive zone even when the puck is loose.

Our defense skates back far too quickly rather than try to get the puck and keep the play alive.

It's something so simple but the Kings don't ever do it unless they're down a goal late in the third.

Our defense doesn't pinch enough nor do they roam around the blue line enough to receive passes.

That's something that's unfortunately disappeared over time, I agree, they only do it at the end of games. Disappeared with the relentless forecheck and backcheck, because as a d-man, you can only make that aggressive play with support/coverage.

In general our forecheck was garbage during the series, no pressure and only one man was forechecking. It was awful, and on the rare occasions where we had a good attack our defense was already backing off while we still had the puck.

It was the most uninspired and disconjointed hockey I've seen them play

You'd think sending Martin Jones 3000 miles east wouldn't come back to haunt us. Seriously, what was Deano thinking trading him to a team that already had a bonafide starter? Not suggesting that we should've kept him, but he could've been sent to an Eastern team that truly needed a goalie. Now Jones is helping a rival win games and on top of that, he always beats us.

Given how poorly Rask has performed in post seasons, Boston may have been better off retaining the services of Jones.

Remember when every hockey pundit was saying the Lucic - Kopitar - Gaborik line was going to wreak havoc and just destroy everyone in the NHL? That's how Martin Jones going to Boston happened.

That's why it was done. You can't trust the evaluations of people who think 30-somethings are going to continue to be great players forever.

Granted Lucic Kopitar Toffoli turned out to be great, but thats about all we had for most of the season. And then it went dormant in the playoffs.

No worse than all the armchair GMs around here who insist they're better than actual GMs and Owners. Fantasy hockey I suppose.

Although hindsight makes everybody a genius.
