The issue I've had since he came out and said it was accidental was the distance he traveled to get to the bench, followed by the slamming of his stick right before he hit him. That says to me he was pissed and lost it, looking to take it out on the first guy he saw.

The slamming of the stick was to communicate to the bench he was coming off the ice. That was mentioned in the suspension video.

Anyone else see the highlights of coach Q lose his **** on the Hawks bench when the goal was overturned? You can clearly read his lips.

Hearing Yannick Weber (VAN) will be put on waivers today. 11 goals last season. Got to think he can help someone's pp.

Daniel Sedin gave away all his all-star game winnings ($91,000 U.S.) to the Canucks training staff. What a class act.

I heard that about Sedin...as much as I hate the Canucks I have to say the Sedin's really have grown on me. They started to turn my opinion on them when the Kings played them in the 2012 playoffs. They never made any excuses in the media or complained about the physicality of series (insert Brown hit here).
Hate the canucks but I hope their fans are enjoying those two.

Semi around the league related I supposed. Was watching the start of the Leafs game lastnight and they had Sittler out there with the rest of the Leafs who were involved in that game. Even had the Bruins goalie (Dave Reece) who was in net that night attend.

It's a record that I don't think will ever be broken. Just a tad before my time but I heard the stories about this performance from my old man and brother who watched it.

Pretty impressive. Some of the older generation on here (cough, Ron, cough ;)) will recall this.

Reece has always declined to comment on the game. so him being there was very interesting

Regulation records in the Pacific:

Kings - 22-17
Ducks - 22-18
Sharks - 21-19
Coyotes - 18-21
Canucks - 13-19
Flames - 13-24
Oilers - 11-26

Those OT wins are helping the Kings out this year.

Top regulation records in the league:

Washington - 31-9
Dallas - 27-14
Florida - 25-15
Chicago - 25-16
St.Louis - 22-17
Los Angeles - 22-17
NY Rangers - 23-18

Washington is at +22, which is almost as good as Dallas(+13) and Florida(+10) combined. Those Caps are ripping the league up. It's all about the playoffs for them though. And oh yeah, Florida, how about that.

Florida is a very good team and only will get better, due to very talented young, top end players like Barkov and Huberdeau and Eckblad who is scary good, and more in the pipeline. Great vet leadership, good d, good coach, good GM.
THey are for real and their record is no accident.

A look at what each team has in terms of 2016 draft picks as we inch closer to the trade deadline.

LA currently with only 3 picks for this years draft.

Psh, Button is just a hater.

Actually I usually hate Button's opinion so I can't enjoy this on principle

Even as a Ducks fan, I laughed when Button acted like the Kings had just traded away Bobby Orr when they acquired Carter. Every year there's always that one great draft prospect that he ranks 20th for no reason whatsoever. Last year it was Noah Hanifin.

Sedin's have always been class acts. Always really liked them as players and people, even on the Canucks. It's not their fault their management has been a big fan of greaseballs. And watching them play really is something special. I don't know if we'll ever see another two players with so much natural instinct to know where each other is on the ice ever.

Button picks one guy he ranks 20 spots too high and one to drop 40 places too low. I'm 99% sure he does it for the clicks. I mean that's really his job for TSN, it's too generate ratings and web traffic, not necessarily to accurately report on the prospects. It generates more traffic by being controversial than being good.

Watched that video through a proxy. I actually fully agree with him there.

Highlight's EK's poor defensive efforts as a leader and suggests the team won't buy in until he sacrifices some points and stops hanging people out to dry.

never understood the dislike for the Sedins - every time I've watched Vancouver it was always their dirtbag supporting cast that was the unlikable ones.

also, please don't slander God-King Karlsson on these sacred boards, His followers may hear of such treachery and descend upon us like a plague of one million locusts

The Sedins are class acts. They are probably the most selfless players in league, always helping out the community.

They're good players, but they are kind of soft.

Them being soft is a misnomer. And something those that don't like them like to spread. It was just about a month ago that Daniel had teeth knocked out and continued to play.

Soft as in not physical, not ability to handle pain.

I am a soft player. I'll block a shot 10/10 times though.

a lot of the hate I think stems from when Burke was there and did his press conference that said, "sedin is not Swedish for punch me after the whistle" or something to that effect.
He was trying to get penalty calls go his teams way in the playoffs, but just made his players look weak and like complainers.
It has stuck with them.

Well, that escalated quickly...2-2 to start the 3rd, 4-2 Ducks 4 min later. The Yotes have been running around most of the 3rd.

I'm clearly a curse. Since the Jets return only ONE of my teams can make playoffs at a time. Jets are imploding so quickly. Went to the game tonight and it was 4-0 before everyone made it into the building almost.

I hope Byfuglien does end up in LA, signs a nice deal longterm and everyone wins in the trade. I still think Jets would target Pearson in a trade and Kings can afford to lose him with Mersch and Kempe waiting in the wings at basically NHL ready. Something around Pearson + Forbort/Gravel + Ehrhoff (salary maybe)/McBain + picks for Byfuglien and Postma (very underrated puck mover with untapped upside, great skater PP beast). That'd be great.
