There is no way to top the 2014 run unless they could of won the Cup against Detroit in 7 games and have Game 7 be in Detroit. Only thing I can think of since the Wings were in the WC for so long since the Kings beat their three current top rivals on the way to the Cup.

Most would prefer beating the Rangers anyways so, if that were the case, the only way to top it would of been winning in seven games.

That's how insane that run was. That was the top of the mountain. Don't think it will ever be topped...reverse sweep over SJ, beat the Ducks in the first playoff match-up ever with the crazy Game 1 and then Game 7 beat down, beat Chicago in 7 with some of the best hockey anyone has ever seen and then beat the Rangers with all three home games being OT winners including two double OT games.

Give me a break. Anyone that would trade that experience for the possibility of winning more Cups in the immediate following years has not suffered through the horrors of this franchise, needs to understand that one in the hand is worth two in the bush or maybe its a case of both.

2012 was losing our virginity. 2014 was the best sex any of us will ever have. I hope to have more in the future but it will never be as magical as the first time and it will never be as mind-blowing ridiculous as 2014. The last couple of seasons have been a burning, itching sensation from the fall out of '14 but the sex was worth it and always will be.

Amen. :yo:

This game is so much like the LA-ANA game 7. Starter gives up 3, is pulled, back up comes in gives up another. This is going to be a 5-1 game.

Yet I would take the 2014 cup and have to deal with the fallout any day of the week

Oh absolutely. That's why I was in favor of getting Sekera and Lucic. I even understood why Lombardi brought Richards and Greene back; that spiritual chemistry he talked about. I'm just saying all the questions we're talking about today, after going out quickly and pretty quietly to the Sharks in 5 games, would've been the questions we would've been talking about 2 years ago, had they not completely turned things around. Which are the questions Lombardi was talking about in his season ending conference call. 2014 made everyone give the team the benefit of the doubt for the next 2 years, including the players themselves.

Backed and Brouwer. Two guys that could not score come playoff time. They're both actually doing something, and it looks like the Blues will be in the 3rd round in part because of that.

"It is the Blues, by a fistful."

Dallas has to get on the board to make it 5-1. Second period hasn't even ended. Did not predict that for Game 7.

Dallas even got a break when it was 1-0 when they won a challenge. Should've given Dallas a boost. Dallas then goes on to give up 2 in 3 min and it's 3-0 after 1 period.

Maybe it is a different series with Seguin.
Maybe. Meanwhile, STL plays LAK-lite and is 20 minutes from the WCF.

Keep the faith, Kings' fan.

Seguin would've helped. Dallas rushed him back and he hurt himself the first game back. The thing is, he didn't need to play in the 1st round.

3-0? If that was the Kings this year the opposing team would tie it up and win in overtime.

I checked in at the start of the game and when I was finally able to sit in front of the TV, it was 4-0. Too bad Dallas didn't take advantage of that challenge win.

...and shutout averted. Dallas gets on the board. Eaves.

It's funny with people bad mouthing Richie, he was on the ice with 40 seconds to go in a tied third period ?

The keys to the Blues' win according to Pierre: "...effort, foreplay, and winning the race..."

Parayko was drafted 86th in 2012.

The Kings took...Pearson at 30 and... Prokhorin at 121.

So, eh, no crying here!
