Don't mind the Sharks burying the Flames at all, given all the bull **** from last season. Especially when you know with the way the two teams are currently playing that the Sharks rout was going to happen anyway.

Calgary has the worst team defense in the league. By far.

Only one Calgary player is a plus this season, with Giordano a -15, and Russell a -14:laugh:

...and this is why you don't give 32-year old players 6 year deals with an AAV of $6.75M. Giordano is a talented player, but he was coming off a career year. The guy is going to start breaking down as time goes on.

The NHL is a young man's game right now. No room for high-priced vets that can't provide the contribution that their AAV requires. The general managers that see this and adjust accordingly will be the most successful.

I would still like to know wha the hell Murray was thinking when he signed Kesler to his ridiculous contract.

For my money, Benn is the best player in the league right now, along with Kane. I give the edge to Benn because he can play center though. The guy is absolutely dynamic and dominant, especially playing with Seguin. Probably the closest thing to a modern league Eric Lindros we'll see for quite awhile. Can't believe players of that caliber can still go in the 5th round, along with Klingberg.

Calgary also has to pay Sean Monahan coming up real fast. You think the GM wants some of that Gio money back ?

Yes he does, yes he does.

Well, no one came to gloat about Bud Holloway, so I'm going to guess his 7:19 of ice time was pretty uneventful, given as he's already been returned...oh, what could have been

 I thought it was pretty funny his first NHL game had that much press - in hockey's mecca no less. Kudos to his agent. :yo:

Ah, the legend of Bud Holloway. I'm sure he'll continue to be the "scoring ace" in the AHL once again.

LA vs Cal 6pm Dec 31st
New Years eve has never been kind to the Kings.

Hate to contradict you, but I went to a New Years' Eve game with my son on December 31, 2011, and we beat Vancouver that night.

Vancouver went on to win the President's Cup that season, and we went right through them in the first round to win the Stanley Cup.

My bad, I got my dates mixed up. It's the 30th that we can't win on. The last game we won on Dec 30th was in 07-08 season.

The Canucks roster is just so unimpressive. The Sedin's are still amazingly doing their thing at 35 and they have some nice but really young forwards but there is just nothing in between.

Just so many blah type players on that roster

Pretty much. Add in a coach that is incompetent and you have the Canucks.

That lack of effort by Hamhuis in trying to recover from his turnover was so evident I will surprised if he gets one more shift the entire rest of the game.

Controller-unplugged worthy.
