It does look like the Kings may win the Pathetic Division title this season.

Would be nice but there is plenty of season to play. To be honest the #2 Spot in the pacific probably has an easier path to the finals.

I don't get why posters keep bringing this up. You make it to the finals by beating good teams. Even if your first round opponent is mediocre, your second round one won't be. With the way teams like to match up lines against the Kings, best to get home ice as long as possible.

Agreed.

Don't get it at all. Just win, baby. Kings have proven they can get by anyone and everyone in the playoffs. Win the ****ing division and let the chips fall where they will. This team is good enough to mow down teams just like they did in 2012.

They should make a new NHL award called the Karlsson award, given to best forward playing in a defensive position. According to the NHL stats, no player in the league has been on the ice for more 5v5 shots against than EK, that's amazing.

He and Drew have nearly identical ice time, yet he's been on for 147 more shots so far. It's not like the guy plays tough minutes either. Around 45 seconds per game on the PK and approaching 5 minutes on the PP....

Also, much is made of the Josi/Weber pairing, but that Jackman/Jones pairing is airtight back there. The best shutdown pair in the league, IMO.

Seriously, the Kings couldn't have had a tougher road to the cup in 2014 but they made it. It's not gonna be a cake walk this year either, regardless of who they face in the 1st round.

Quick is washed up, plus, I read on the internet that the Kings missed the playoffs last year.
The ducks basically won the stanley cup last year... I'm pretty excited to see what they can do.

Boy, did Kings haters get a lot of mileage out of that.

I can see not wanting to be gassed at the end of the regular season like last year, but we want the kings to be playing their best when the real season starts.

Kings should play their best without exhausting themselves and face whom they face.

6-1 vs. the Central.

Yep. But of course there will be people still complaining that the Kings didn't have to play team A or B, and would never have gotten by them even though those team were eliminated.

There will be fans complaining that the Columbus Blue Jackets had the team to win the Cup this season as well.

Patrick Kane's streak is at 26 games. Will Dustin Brown have 26 points this season?

Goals and Assists... No.
Will his line finish the year with as many points, combined, as Kane?

I get this line of thinking, but that year the Kings played the Blues then the Sharks in round one and 2 they weren't going anywhere. Those games were blood baths and the team wasn't going to be healthy enough to do anything after that. The matches can hurt the teams ability to go all the way. At the end of the day if you have to play the 1st/2nd/3rd place teams to get out of the West, that's what you have to do.

I'm not sure which round took the most out of them or maybe it was a combined build up that basically had them playing the Hawks on crutches. It would've been interesting to see how physical the Ducks would've been had they not choked game 7 vs the Wings. It would've been Kings-Ducks, Sharks-Hawks instead.
