Who has a better chance, Tampa Bay or Pittsburgh? I say Tampa Bay with Bishop but I'm not very optimistic about either.

Will Bishop even be back? Pittsburgh has looked great at times, and shaky in some games as well. Tough to say who will match up better against San Jose.

Of the remaining teams, San Jose has the best depth I'd say, especially down the middle.

No idea if he'll be back. San Jose is definitely the most consistent out of the 3 teams remaining. How many games have they looked bad in the playoffs? 1 (game 4 against St. Louis)?

Nashville posed as San Jose's biggest threat but they no showed in Game 7.

Of all the opponents the Sharks have gone by, the Kings were their easiest opponents.

**** him. He's a core reason why they've been Choke Louis all these years.

Hey, you go ahead and give up what a leader type NHL power forward gives up for a decade and a half in your own ******** career and then maybe you can asterisk him.

Otherwise, man up and show some respect.

For ****'s sake.

Kings were probably the easiest series out of every one in the playoffs.

13th out of 16 playoff teams in Goals For (2.2 GF/G)

13th out of 16 playoff teams in Goals Against (3.2 GA/G)

10th out of 16 playoff teams in Penalty Killing (76.2%)

16th out of 16 playoff teams in Shots For (25 shots per game)

The Kings certainly were one of the weakest teams in the playoffs.

I kinda think the Penguins. They are the Eastern team that seems most willing to play Western Conference hockey.

We all wanna stab our eyes out after tonight, but the Sharks are rolling now. No injuries, systems working, goaltender reliable. The Lightning don't match up, but the Pens seem more able to slow it down and grind it out. It's our only hope.

Just give the sharks the Cup already seriously. I don't see the Lightning or Pens beating this Sharks team.

It's doubtful the Kings win a series against any team, but the Sharks kicked their ass in every game in LA this year. Turns out it may have been the worst possible 1st round matchup for the Kings, so those playoff stats may or may not look worse than they would against another team.

If the Sharks win the Cup, and the Kings play them in SJ for the first game of the season next year, I wonder if the Kings will win that game in a blowout like the Sharks did? Probably not?

Much respect to this Sharks team. Even if you don't like them, they're getting the job done (so far). That being said, if I had to see Couture lift the Cup I think I'd be sick.

:naughty: Sharks are right where we want them. Up 3-0 they easily had that series handled. Sharks currently rolling through the playoffs, everything going great for them. Choking now would be epic.

Blues: You'd think they'd show up in an elimination game.

Everything has lined up for the Sharks this year. Shell of a Kings team. No Chicago. No Anaheim. Bleh.

Starting with naming DeBoer coach. I've always thought him to be a very good coach, very good hockey smarts, understands the game and more importantly, the players. Always gets the best out of htem and they love playing for him. Only 2 NHL teams he's been coach of in the playoffs and both times SCF that's a pretty good batting average.

And giving Pavelski the C made a big difference. Right man for the job has done it and done it well for them in all 3 zones. Last night not only scoring and putting up offense but throwing himself in front of a puck to block a shot. He works hard every shift, leaves it all out there and has thrived in pressure that comes with a deep playoff run.

And if they do win, good for Joel Ward, a player I've always felt very quietly did a nice and consistent job as a forward, defends his end when he has to and is considered a great teammate. Hard working ,good player, it's good to see a guy like thta whose paid his dues get rewarded.

Canucks and Cats swap former 1st rounders...McCann for Gudbranson...

http://mynhltraderumors.com/nhl-tra...on-vancouver-canucks-jared-mccann/2016/05/25/

The Florida Panthers have traded defenseman Erik Gudbranson and a 2016 5th round pick to the Vancouver Canucks for center Jared McCann, a 2016 2nd and 4th round picks.

Gudbranson was drafted 3rd overall in the first round of the 2010 draft by Florida Panthers.

McCann was drafted 24th overall in the first round of the 2014 draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

I get that the Canucks need D and he's a good one,...but giving up McCann a steep price to pay, he's got all the tools to be a top forward.
Barkov, Bjugstad, Trocheck and McCann down the middle and all under 23...nicely done Panthers...continue to impress. Strength down the middle. sets them up nicely for years.

And they got back the 2 draft picks they lost at the trade deadline.
Hopefully it works out for both teams...Gudbranson's contract is up after this year and he'd have wanted a good increase, and given the Cats depth at defense (esp how well Matheson played as a rookie this year) , it was a risk worth taking, saving them some money.

I like Mitchell's tweet about the trade a simple "WTF". I guess he was a fan of Gudbranson's.

One of the things he's done exceedingly well is manage their minutes and fitness. He told Thornton to go home and relax which blew his mind, and most games, the difference between Burns and Dillon is less than 5 minutes. Everyone is fresh, they're rolling the hell out of their depth, like the 2012 Kings in particular.

I just compared them to 2012 kings to my boss, saying how like that kings team the sharks are incredibly healthy for how deep they are

Pretty hard to watch these.

It really hit him hard. This is a good writeup on Backes and the Blues and how much this one hurt

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/1...s-blues-captain-david-backes-uncertain-future
"We thought we had a team ..." said Blues forward Troy Brouwer before correcting himself. "We do have a team that's a championship-caliber team."

He's right. They do. The Blues proved it by beating a championship-caliber team in Round 1. They just happened to run into another championship-caliber team in the Western Conference finals. That's why it's so hard to win a Stanley Cup.
