That was as dominating a 2-1 OT win as you're likely to see.

The Sharks will appreciate the extra day to rest and come up with a winning gameplan... and to work the refs even more ( who already look like they've been worked pretty hard).

Just for arguments sake, what is it that Crosby is doing that Couture says is cheating? Cause I've seen Bergeron cheat A LOT on faceoffs.

And Thornton has never cheated either. He says Crosby is knocking the puck out of the air before it hits the ice by timing the drop of the puck. And why the hell was Ward out there to begin with to take the draw?

That's what you're supposed to do. The trick is to not get caught! If you aren't cheating you aren't trying. (It's not like he's playing the puck from the bench or something stupid like that.)

This coming from the guy the broadcast guys were making fun of for diving. The refs were so embarrassed they called that penalty they let a blatant stick to the face go seconds later because they weren't going to hand the Sharks the game on a dive.

Edit:
Sheary. Rookie, small, and fast. Definitely a Kings-type of player.....

Will have to wait one more year till he's an RFA.

It's funny how during the recap show, the commentators were saying the same thing. Couture can whine all he wants, but he's just as guilty as every center in the league taking draws. They're all looking for an edge.

Hahahaha...this is why they can never close the big games. They just got manhandled last night. Jones is the only reason they didn't get destroyed... need some wine with that whine?

the quote I read was that Couture was complaining that Crosby was cheating by timing the draws....is that not what you're supposed to do? Did he say how Crosby was cheating?

I read that he's complaining that he knocks it out of the air before it hits the ice. But who cares, it happens often. It's nothing new, I don't know why he felt like complaining about it, let alone in the Stanley Cup Final. :shakehead

Well, in a lot of cases they'll blow that dead as a false faceoff, so he's not wrong in facts, he's just wrong that Crosby is the only one doing it and getting away with it.

I saw Matt Cullen murder a few people cleanly on faceoffs doing the same thing, and I also so Couture box out before the puck left the refs hand and they let it go.

That's why it comes off as just clutching at straws and crumbling. EVERYONE cheats on faceoffs. Show me someone that doesn't, and I'll show you a winger.

DeBoer whining in his press conference yet again too, it's getting old. Love his coaching, hate his woe is me.

Its a gift that keeps on giving. Remember his game long whining in game 6 2012? Kings said thank you very much for taking yourselves out of any chance to continue the series.

Now he's got his players whining too. I Love it.

WTF is with this schedule? Too many days off.

Can't say I've ever worked with an arena crew, but they did reshuffle an Andrea Bocelli concert from Saturday to Friday. Not sure if it would have been too much trouble to have it ready for a hockey configuration to concert to hockey again. Plus the NHL probably wanted to avoid a Friday night if at all possible (for TV and local consideration).

It hasn't been unusual to see two off days in a series. Blackhawks/Lightning had two days between games 4/5. Kings/Rangers had two days between games 1 and 2. Blackhawks/Bruins and Kings/Devils had two days between 1/2 and 4/5.

NHL insisted on releasing a blank schedule before the ECF ended. So they had a contingent TBL/SJS series:

Game 1: Monday, May 30 [TBL@SJS]
Game 2: Wednesday, June 1 [TBL@SJS]
Game 3: Saturday, June 4 [SJS@TBL]
Game 4: Monday, June 6 [SJS@TBL]
*Game 5: Thursday, June 9 [TBL@SJS]
*Game 6: Sunday, June 12 [SJS@TBL] -- Tampa's arena already booked on Saturday for an Arena Football game
*Game 7: Wednesday, June 15 [TBL@SJS]

Of course, the next game is on Saturday. It is the worst night to watch sports. ****ing always catering to Canadians.

Actually this is a US-catered schedule, and has been throughout the playoffs. NBC is calling the shots for scheduling, and building availability is a factor as well.

Friday night is ratings death in the US, so they prefer Saturdays.

On the plus side, Saturday's game is on both NBC and NBCSN.

It is too many days though. 17 days to play 7 games is too much. Sometimes common sense needs to trump revenue, but with public companies that never happens.

And I have to believe the NBA and NHL consult with one another. Cleveland's AHL squad is in the finals as well, so they had to work that in. If Oklahoma City had made the NBA Finals, they had already booked 6/6 for a WWE event.

The NHL finals have turned out better than a grenade in a wedding cake. I hope the Sharks get swept. :yo:

Deboer's press conference summary:

Q: What's the problem?

A: They aren't taking penalties. We need power plays.

Such a disgusting team.
