Kesler knew what he was doing and deserved every bit of that response. If he didn't want to get a rise out of the Flames, then don't pull that **** off. Who does that anyway? Only a classless dick who disrespects his opponents.

this...as soon as he shot the puck he knew he was getting popped in the face. If he did that against LA I would be dissapointed if someone did go and hit him

Chris Neil is so ****ing dirty it's ridiculous. Go back to your cave.

so is Brad Marchand, this hit is the reason the NHL is calling him. He should get hit the same way, maybe then he'd learn...cheap and cowardly. Low hit to the knees and late, after the puck was gone. He bends way over with the intent of taking out borowiecki's knees.

Twenty second video, the last 10 you see the close up.

Don't create waves. My OT thread still has the month "November" in it.

It also has the words "mod warning" in it but I didn't put that there.

Florida is going to be a dangerous team in a few years if they can keep their young guys together. They are getting done something Edmonton should have been able to get done (make the playoffs) a while back.

Amen. Barkov is quickly becoming hte monster we thought.

I think they're doing well compared to Edmonton because they actually have solid blueliners and a proven goalie.

You give the Oilers Ekblad and Luongo and I bet they'd suddenly look a helluva lot better.

All the high-end forwards in the world isn't going to get you anywhere if you don't have a decent foundation behind them (see also: Dallas Stars prior to this year)

I'm all for a Kings / Panthers SCF to really troll Canada and the Northeast.

i can't even explain how happy i'd be if this happened

even people here in the midwest tend to get all high and mighty when discussing sun belt teams

reminding Hawks fans that they lost to Mike Smith and the Coyotes in the '12 playoffs is one of the simple joys in life

They had a better leadership group in place and developed the team the right way. Dave Tallon is a pretty smart hockey guy and I think Gallant is good coach, and it's showing.

Also, don't underestimate the veterans on the team, Mitchell was a great choice as captain and has mentored Eckblad since he came up. Luongo is a good guy in the room as well. Jagr also has made a big difference, showing those young guys how to do it right, his diet, his work ethic, workouts after games and esp the off ice workouts at night he does with leg weights and a weighted vest. Jamie Benn still points to that example as a difference maker in his game.

Barkov is the reason to tune in, he's growing with every game, what's not to like, size, speed, skill, smarts, good two way instincts...only 20 and will just get better.

And they still have some high end prospects in the farm system, Lawson Crouse is a guy I wanted the Flyers to draft, a 6'4 220 lb winger who has skill and size and is not afraid to get in the dirty areas. He's only 2 yrs out if that in making the club.
MIke Matheson, the Capt. of the Boston College team is a defenseman they drafted in 2012 that will be on their farm team next year. Petrovic may develop into the big, physical d they'll need.

They are going to become an elite team in the Atlantic in short order.

Finally saw the clip...

This isn't even accurate. He didn't get punched right after shooting it in.

Kesler shot it in, him and another dude went behind the net, where other guy checked him for the open net goal.
Kesler turns around and hits the guy back.
Guy jumps Kesler after he starts hitting back.

He basically just got checked for what he did, and he tried to retaliate for that check and things went up from there.

wideman was on his way to punch kessler as soon as he shot it in. didn't matter that he was fighting back.
I stand by the fact Kessler should have known that he was going to get punched when he shot that..that is all I said.

Kesler being a ****** is a given, but Wideman is an ******* too. He left his feet and started punching him. What a piece of garbage, dirty play.

I really don't see the big deal of him shooting it into the net to be honest.

Yeah, but they nearly lost Hossa because of a certain guy who plays for the Sharks now.

I'm all for a Kings / Panthers SCF to really troll Canada and the Northeast.

That'd be cool. But I'd be much happier if we could, ya know, actually beat those guys in a meaningful game at the Olympics and finish higher in the podium...

My favorite part of the Kesler/Wideman thing is the shot of Perry on the bench trying to alert his teammates as to what was going on when they started to celebrate the win. People always ask what makes hockey so different from other sports in regards to why fighting is ok and that reaction by Perry is a prime example. He was half way over the bench and a duck dmen had already left the bench to congratulate the goaltender, but they both had the restraint to return/remain on the bench when the altercation started.

Signing Richards would be the biggest Wilson-type move the Sharks have ever done.

I do understand the motivation here.

He is attempting to recreate the 2014 Stanley Cup championship team. One player at a time.
