I'm guessing it's doubtful the Jackets make a claim for Tim Erixon? Maybe more likely if they can trade Leopold or Wiz here at the deadline?

Note- I'm not a huge Tim Erixon fan that thought he was a future Top 4 D-Men either, just curious.

Apparently the guy just isn't cut out for the NHL. Back to a Swedish league? Kind of disappointing.

I think he looked fine here. Chicago waiving him has to be a prelude to either someone coming off IR or possibly a trade.

I'd pick him back up without blinking, but I don't think he gets past Edmonton.

I'm puzzled at the Coburn trade. The Flyers got good value for him, but for a team that has a hard time assembling a competent D-core, it just doesn't make sense. The Flyers' window starts in a couple years (or it better, with Voracek and Giroux in their primes). It doesn't start five or six years from now when Morin and Sanheim et. al. are hitting their stride and Voracek and Giroux are past theirs. Coburn was their best defender, and it's just too hard to replace him and get top pair D in the short run.

Turn on the Florida game.

Derek MacKenzie might be in goal for the Panthers. Not kidding.
