A prime example of what a dumbass of a GM the Kraken are stuck with. Those picks could have been going to Seattle.

Or maybe their are a bunch of dumbasses on this board that don't understand the current value of players/cap. Gee I wonder which it is.

I hate Fletcher. What a piece of shit.
Fletcher making Holmgren look like a mensa candidate. Using assets to give players away for cap space so we can over pay new players (see Ellis) so that we will have to give assets up to trade those new players in a couple of years (see Ellis, Hayes, whoever else they over pay this year)......

I wonder if the devils looked into this or if Philly did not want to deal with NJ? Devils rebuilding and have tons of cap so either Philly did not want to deal with NJ or NJ is actually planning on using their cap for once

doesnt matter what Fletcher thinks. He’s a f***ing moron.
Eh, cap is at a premium: you're right he wouldn't be a usual cap dump, but look at what some teams have done to get rid of cap hits this year. Florida bought out Yandle and gave Borgstrom+Stillman (who Chicago protected) to get rid of Connolly; Minnesota bought out Suter and Parise. Ladd cost two seconds and a third.

I'm impressed Fletcher got away without giving up a first for a second

I don't think a 2nd and a 7th is all that high of a price to clear 4.5 mil.

People acting like Philly needed to give up a 1st sounded insane.

Very good deal for Arizona though, They'll easily get more picks out of him at next seasons TDL.

It's 2 years of 4.5 mill. Marc Staal cost a 2nd to clear one year of 5.4 mill and Patrick Marleau cost a 1st to clear one year of 6.3 mill if you want to pin it to other deals.

This should've been the kind of deal the Seattle Kraken made.
a literal free 2nd round pick for a short term cap dump.

Ghost was their best defensemen this past season but they cratered his value so badly with stupid decisions like inexplicably placing him on waivers to create unecessary cap savings that they had to pay a 2nd and 7th to move him. They better be using his cap space to sign a replacement that is a better player or this will go down as atrocious asset management.

Also, you can fully guarantee that Ghost will look very good in Arizona now that he's aware from a Flyers organization that has been jerking him around the last 3 years.
