Stepan is a very good top 6 C who will help the young guys on the team, and who isn't old. #7 could end up being Mittelstadt, or a young D man.

Zona had to go for it at some point. Stepan and Raanta are both quite overated, but zona had to try.
They won't get to the playoffs yet, but their days of drafting top 7/8 are done.

NYR desperately had to retool and get younger. If they make a good draft choice this goes a long ways. If they screw up the 7OA, there's rough water ahead. Risky for them.

All in all, fair trade.
