OT: Are you cheering for or against Boston?

I'm cheering for the Bruins. They're making the Rangers look like fools. Boston are a very strong team. I'm hoping for a Bruins / Pens conference final myself.

Becuaseeeeeeeeeeeee if Boston goes the distance is shows how strong Toronto actually was. :teach:

which will shut all the haters up.

Actually it doesn't mean much of anything . This line of thinking is flawed , the Islanders gave the pens a tougher series but does that mean they're better than the Sens and would have advanced had the two teams met ?

We played the B's tough and blew a chance to win but that may have just been the wake up call they needed to up there game . How we would have fared against the Rangers or anyone else we'll never know .

And what's up with this hater crap ? Moral victories mean nothing in the long run and this team needs to keep improving if we're going to ever win the cup . We're one of 8 teams that lost in the first round , one of 15 teams that will lose this year in the playoffs and one of 29 teams that won't achieve the desired goal of hoisting the cup .

Next year is a new challenge and it'll be difficult just to make the playoffs . It won't be an easy task with Bos-Det-Ott and Mon in our division not to mention if T-Bay gets some decent goaltending .

One must be a glutant for punishment if you're cheering for the Rangers.

Haven't you suffered enough disappointment this playoff season with the Leafs loss already?

Why set yourself up for even more?

We might not even make the playoffs with Detroit coming into play and the new playoff qualification format.

I hope we can be better next year, however, I think we need to add a couple of pieces to do it. We really need a #1 D and a #1 C to move up in the standings. That's a minimum IMHO.

I'd disagree wholeheartedly. The Chicago/Detroit and Pittsburgh/Ottawa games have been great. LA/SJ is a bit of a snoozer but still some quality hockey. Watching Thornton in his groove is a pleasure.

As for the original question in the OP, I'd say no. However I'm fairly indifferent to how far they go in the post-season.

I've never been a guy who jumps on whatever canadian team is in the playoffs, but I have a nerve in my body that's been cheering for the Sens lately.

I want both the Rangers and Bruins to lose, but perhaps the Rangers deserve to lose more. If their terrible brand of hockey ever caught on and everyone played like that, I think I'd have to find a new hobby.

Seeing the Bruins tear through the Rangers actually makes me feel sad  We were 10 minutes from beating the Bruins and the Rangers can't even put up a fight.

we were 8th in the league, yeah?
5th in our conference. ergo:
I don't think it's going to be as difficult as people keep making it out to be. truthfully it's the EAST. i think if we just stay HEALTHY - we'll be good to go.

it does make me feel good about the team, they didn't roll over and die. NOR did anyone say when asked "can you get out of this." reply with "Probably not."

I'd like to see Boston take the Rangers in 5 and then get beat-down by the Pens in the conference finals. That way, we can take some solace in the fact that we put up much more of a fight than the Rangers, who were a Cup favourite for many at the start of the season, while still getting the satisfaction of seeing Boston lose.

In the Leafs/Bruins series, each team won their respective games because the other team didn't play to their potential but that's still credit to both teams because they are part of the reason that the other team didn't play their best. No matter how far the Bruins go, they are still a great team and it would be a disservice to our team to not recognize how much they challenged and pushed that Bruins roster. We took a great team to 7 games and had to survive 2 elimination games to even get to that game 7. There is no retribution in seeing another team beat the Bruins. Retribution is seeing our team get another crack at them and getting the job done so there's really no point in my rooting against the Bruins just because they beat us.

That said, I'll root for a team based purely on my likeness for their roster and right now, the Pens are my preference to win it all, however, in the Bruins/Rangers series, I went into the series hoping for the Bruins to advance. If it were the Leafs, I'd suffer through it if it meant wins but as a neutral viewer watching any Rangers game, it's really hard. To my preference of what entertaining hockey is, the Rangers play a pretty insufferable style and I'd rather not see it for another round.

I've always found it bizarre that fans cheer for the team that knocked their team out. I see the reasoning that 'Well, we lost to the best, at least' used when those teams go on to win the Cup, but that just makes me think of what could have been. ESPECIALLY with the way the Leafs lost.

Pretty much this. I actually prefer Rags over Bruins but I'm cheering for Pens and Kings/Sharks
