Nope. Far from it. Almost like you never watch them win.
No, we all watched them win half of the cups in the last decade. Some people just like to revise history and pretend that they won through toughness and grit, when they actually won through puck possession and skill, with very little grit. And the grit they did have was only really apparent and considered grit after those cup runs, because that's what happens.

There is nothing unprecedented about the makeup of this team.

And just how did they get puck possession? Sidney Crosby has more grit in him than the entire Leafs team.

They kept puck possession by having skilled players instead of a bunch of useless plugs only good for their "grit" taking up space.

People act like Toronto has nobody that can throw a hit. It's gotten beyond ridiculous, especially since it's October and this has not been a problem in any of their playoff series.

You'd be laughed out of the room if you said this before he won his cups.

They had very comparable "toughness" to what Toronto currently has now with Mikheyev, Shore, muzzin, Hyman.
Absolutely not true. Just stop it.

And by the way, Mikheyev has gradually stopped hitting and even finishing his checks since he made the team, Shore is invisible (contributes not much of anything that is beyond his minimal pay grade), Muzzin was put on injury list by a genuine tough guy, and Hyman doesn't play after experiencing the Big Bad Bruins series.

The truth still is that this team is somehow staying within striking distance of the playoffs while not playing well at all. It still could go either way.

I agree, with Tavares, Hyman and Muzzin all possibly back on Tuesday and the fact that 3 out of our next 4 games are against basement dwellers, let's see how much ground we gain on Boston who are only 5 points ahead of us (no mater how bad we have been and how good the B's have been), they are second overall in the league, only one point under the Caps.

The real proof will be after those 4 games when we play 6 straight very tough teams but hopefully by then, we'll also be a tough team to play against.

The team needs some confidence right now. Expecting to win instead of expecting to lose.

Really looking forward to Hyman coming back. 19 minutes of PK and good hard smart play. A guy you can throw out when you need offense or to protect a lead.
He deserves to have an "A" on his jersey instead of handing them out based on the size of players bank accounts.

Way i see it is we are 7-2-2 with a day between games and 0-3-1 when we play back to back. We played a big chunk of our back to backs already so you'd figure the record will balance out. Unfortunately, since Dubas did not get a decent back up, Andersen will be forced to play 60-70 games again.

I would have gone for Domingue when he got waived, but if memory serves me right Dubas decided to sign Robertson to ELC a day before all the goalies got waived and maxed out our contract spots :thumbd:

We all know this hasn't been a great start. But we've had injuries, 4 back to back games and our backup goalie cant steal games.

That said we are 1 point of being 600 team. That's not bad. Hope we can improve as injured players return.

I think thy are abou to go on a good solid run and the. Those that were panicking I'll sto and those of us ho always knew October would a slough because when you have 4 back to backs and onl 1 real goalie of course it will be will be proven right and then all the calling for th coach to be fired will stop
