Are there too many similar color schemes among NHL teams?

This is why I love Utah's blue. It's not the same as Toronto, Tampa, Columbus, St. Louis, etc.
I read that Utah wanted a mountain blue , which Fanatics didn’t have on hand , so they used the Florida 3rd swatch , which MTRL also has on one of their jerseys.

I think next year the use that Mountain blue..

I personally would like to see a bit of purple in there though, as long as it’s done right

Minnesota needs to go to the North Stars' color scheme uniforms full-time. That green, yellow, and black is a beautiful combination that's criminally underused!

Also, Dallas should just lean into the neon green full-time. Love those thirds!

Kind of an odd way to try to make this point. You have three color schemes with only two teams in each sporting them, and another with three teams. That doesn't seem too cookie cutter to me. In the latter case, one of those teams (Nashville) uses gold/yellow as its main color, while the other two teams lumped in with Nashville use blue as their main color. That seems different enough, but i dunno. Somehow Florida's red and blue is ok because they mix in two other colors, but Chicago's red and black is categorized with four other teams despite, as noted, also having two other colors in there. In fact, most teams have three or four colors in their uniforms. I'd bet every team could have a different color scheme, and the conversation would just change to "why does the league allow all of these ugly color schemes?"
