I get that, but for a 3rd Brown is a pretty good deal. you got him this year and next year at only $2.1 and, although he hasnt done it recently, in his rookie year he scored 20 goals (because he was playing top 6 minutes and PP time, which he isnt anymore) and when it comes to resigning him, I dont think he would ask for much more than he is currently making tbh. Especially if you want to gut your team of older guys and bring in youth, he is a good roster player to have and he is quite a good PKer too.
Whatever Brown's merits are, you're selling him to the wrong team.

I’d do that trade, personally. If Liljegren turns out to be a #3D like most project, we can have Dumba and Lilly as our RD. Bracco would be a nice 3C option with Ek being hopefully a 2C. Only thing left... 1C.
You're doing a whole hell of a lot of projecting.

I get that, I added him into my original trade because I thought that if they really are blowing it up, they would be trading away a lot of their forwards and probably wouldnt be getting many roster players back, hence adding in brown to help alleviate that.

Fair. And I sort of get the sense in sending a young RD prospect back for Spurgeon, but I don't think that's the right target for us at all.

We have players capable of providing what he would bring, and adding 2.1 million is salary isn’t a smart idea for us. We should be shredding salary.

Yeah... Liljegren's interesting and all, but I wouldn't count on Bracco being much in the NHL at all. Not to say he couldn't be, but I wouldn't spend Spurgeon for the opportunity to find out.

You can replace Bracco's name with Liljegren's and it would still be true.

you seem to be more reasonable than the other people who have made that comment so I will ask you, why dont you think Bracco will make it in the NHL? Im not trying to be a d*** here just legit wondering what you see wrong with his playstyle that wouldnt translate to the bigs

you dont think that a 21 Y/O playing at a PPG in the AHL will make the NHL?

I implore you to explain your reasoning behind that

Just because they are a PPG in the "AHL" doesn't mean they are a guaranteed to succeed in the NHL... I'm sure Cory Conacher was/is PPG in the AHL and he isn't what yo expected a PPG player to be. Kenny Agostino? Over a PPG player and where is he at? I'm sure I can find more players but you get the point.

well, in the origional deal, Browns Cap hit + Braccos + Liljegrens cap hits (assuming the trade happens and MIN puts them all on the NHL Roster) is around $2 Million dollars cheaper than Spurgeons total contract, and all 3 of them are signed for atleast this year and next at their current cap hits

TheAHL.com

Half of this page is filled with guys who can score at high levels in the AHL but will never be solid NHL players.

Ok I get that but that isnt really explaining why Bracco specifically wont translate. I get that some PPG AHL players never panned out in the AHL, but that doesnt mean they all dont. In fact most of them probably do or did at one time

Teams never sell everyone at one time.

So cam down.

First and foremost Fenton needs to address the upcoming ufa guys, so Staal.

Then it likely comes to contract term. no need to rush it al at once. But if a great offer comes in he’d make the move.

Bracco is also the only player in that Top 5 that is under 25. He is actually 4 years younger than the next youngest player in that Top 5 and has never played in the NHL so how do you know he wont work in the NHL?

It’s not a bad deal, liljgren would be a nice start but adding brown kind of kills the deal.

Brown doesnt have to be part of the deal, but I kinda see what you mean

Again, asking a 3rd for brown is a pretty low ask if we are to take the boyle trade as the general ask this TDL, and I thought that if MIN is really planning on selling, you might loose a lot of your current forward depth, and I would assume a lot of whats coming back would be picks/prospects, leaving you with a lack of forwards, hence why I added brown.

Cause we get a bunch of meh spare parts for a borderline #1 defenseman.
Considering what Karlsson got last year with 1 year left in his contract, that seems about right. Though, I can see why you wouldn’t want to make that trade.

Connor Brown also has more points than ANYONE in Minnesotas bottom 6 while playing 3rd/4th line on the leafs and NO POWERPLAY TIME. sit down.

OOO what a clap back. Keep the leaf trash with the leafs. Hes still a 4th liner even if hes a better 4th liner than the wilds 4th liners. "Sit down"
