then you would probably be using the wrong word. Good luck finding a player better than half your forwards for a 3rd or less :) Oh also, Brian Boyle, a 34 year old UFA with 19 points (Same as Brown) was had for a 2nd. Brown has this year and next year at $2.1 Million and is 9 years younger than Boyle.

Do with that information what you will.
Brown had a good rookie year and is a dine a dozen player.

Liljegren is a solid prospect but not a sure thing.

Bracco will be a great contributor. For the IOWA Wild.

It's a garbage offer. Spurgeon is an awesome player, every tean in the league would beat that offer.

I doubt they'll blow it up in any dramatic sense. If I had to guess we'll see something like the following:

- Staal gone at the deadline; maybe Fehr as well
- Pateryn gone if they can find a taker
- One of Zucker or Granlund gone over the summer; maybe at the deadline if there's a team that really wants them for the playoffs this year
- Possibly Coyle as well if the offers are good

I think Spurgeon might be obtainable for the right piece, but unless it's a very good young center we'd be wise to keep him. Brodin would probably be easier to pry loose, though we don't look as strong on the left side as we did a year ago so I could be wrong there.

I think they're bound to be the last place team next season. I expect Chicago to improve, plus the Blues, Stars, powerhouse Jets and Predators, Colorado is one who happens to also be questionable for me.

you dont think that a 21 Y/O playing at a PPG in the AHL will make the NHL?

I implore you to explain your reasoning behind that

i personally would rather just cut quantity for quality thing and start anew with a first round pick. At least then you have the suspense of "will he or won't he develop?" to keep you interested in the crap seasons that will follow.

i mean i know we are in trouble here but the "i predict they'll be last (or near)" stuff is what we've heard from you guys for the last five years. we will never suck bad enough to get a top five pick.

Always struck me as a team stuck in mediocrity i think a rebuild would be best. They have a lot of nice pieces all around but lack elite talent on the roster or prospect wise Kaprizov aside.

Could the leafs skirt around the 1st by doing 2 prospects?

Liljegren + Bracco + 2020 2nd + Brown for Spurgeon + 2019 3rd + ?
I’d do that trade, personally. If Liljegren turns out to be a #3D like most project, we can have Dumba and Lilly as our RD. Bracco would be a nice 3C option with Ek being hopefully a 2C. Only thing left... 1C.

I don't think Liljegren is an insulting starting point for Spurgeon. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not insulted.
thank you reasonable fans.

only thing i could see hurting you guys is the fact that it leaves you without much d, but I guess if a trade like this were to happen, you would already have another deal being made to bring in a roster dman

Cause we get a bunch of meh spare parts for a borderline #1 defenseman.
He's a top 25 Dman at this point, and of the rarer RH variety. I don't know if that makes him a #1Dman by definition, or not. IMO he has played better than Suter this year. To me, he's a guy you don't trade unless you get something really good in return.

As if the Wild need to trade away one of the best players to get Meh depth. If there is one team that doesn't need more Meh depth, it is MN.

Brown isn’t exactly a player a rebuilding team should be throwing picks at. If the Wild went the rebuilding route picks and prospects are what they should be adding.

I get that, but for a 3rd Brown is a pretty good deal. you got him this year and next year at only $2.1 and, although he hasnt done it recently, in his rookie year he scored 20 goals (because he was playing top 6 minutes and PP time, which he isnt anymore) and when it comes to resigning him, I dont think he would ask for much more than he is currently making tbh. Especially if you want to gut your team of older guys and bring in youth, he is a good roster player to have and he is quite a good PKer too.
