Leafs just outshot the powerhouse Canucks 47 to 21

They are in trouble if Jones is their playoff starter though.
I was not impressed with the Canucks at all. Sure They won game with 6 goals on 19 shots. that is only because Toronto had a 3rd/4th string goalie in net. The leafs dominated lots of that game. They are going nowhere in the playoffs. The leafs are playing their worst hockey in several years and still managed to dominate them. This one came down to Toronto’s piss poor goaltending. On top of that, Demko is nothing to talk about. The Canucks are getting beat in the first round easily. That team is not a cup contender.

That Canucks team is not impressive. The leafs skated circles around them for a better part of that game. The only reason your team won is because they scored six goals on 19 shots.
Defiance in the face of adversity. What about all of the other teams they lost to on their way down the standings? Same idea?

No.

Goaltending & soft play by too many of their leadership group are not ingredients for playoff success.

I figured Marner/Matthews/Nylander would eventually figure it out, but with each passing season it seems less and less likely.

Kettle black… the Canucks have been a trash team for the last eight seasons Missing the playoffs. this is the first season in eight seasons that they have been in a playoff spot and you fans are acting like they just won the Stanley Cup. You just beat a fourth string goalie against the team that is playing the worst hockey in their careers. lol

You Leafs fans keep saying this... but at worst he's your #2 this season.

They are just too top heavy to be of any threat to anyone. It will be hilarious when Nylander comes back to earth next season, and they have even more money tied up in these four players with worse results.

Nope. Not in the least. Paranoid much

But, since you brought it up, I'm not a fan of either group yet would easily pick the nucks over the Leafs in a 7-game series. Clearly the better team and more playoff ready group this season.
I would put my Sunday night beer league team against the Leafs goaltending in a 7 games series and say they have a chance.

not at all, the Canucks are just not a good team. Quinn Hughes crying on the bench in the 2nd period was classic.
The thread title asks if the Leafs are a Stanley Cup contender. A contender is solid right through its lineup and lesser teams should be an easy win. You guys spent all the money on 4 forwards that are good at scoring goals and putting up points but defense and goaltending are a weakness. That isn't a contender for the cup.
