Am I wrong that Matthews scores a lot against Anaheim?
What does that have to do with anything? You might be pretty good at predicting things that have already happened, but when it comes to predicting what the Leafs will do in the future, you've been worse than useless.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your upbeat, over the top homerism but let's be real here, your track record with predictions ... no offence, but it sucks.

My non-Leafs predictions have been much better than my Leafs predictions. I aim to rectify that this season.

Are you planning on rectifying this by improving your Leaf related predictions or making your other predictions worse?

Seriously though, it makes sense that your non-Leaf predictions would be better because you're being objective as opposed to being a homer. Cheers!

I think you misread my post - I wasn't talking about his play last night. Read this again:

"He played one of the most dominant games I've seen him play before getting hurt in the playoffs"

my bad on this one but even last year in playoff before he really get hurt, him and his line pwas not that grwat... That line been outplayed most of the time against Marchand line, they took a lot of bad penalties who cost a lot of goal. At the exact moment marchand stop playing vs matthews line, he became pretty invisible of the ice.

If you considerating penalty taken/ draw resulting of a goal + production at even strenght. This line had been the worst line.

If Matthews and its the same with Marner and Nylander playing the same way they did last year, leafs will be in trouble.

They're not, but it's no question there's a fck ton of bad habits surrounding this team when Matthews plays.

Part of me wonders if it's because Matthews is more limited than most superstars. He reminds of of Anthony Davis in that regard.

He's got a great shot, but he's not like Drai or Ovi, who have a signature spot.

Overall, I agree Matthews has been a playoff disappointment. It was just that one game against Boston where I thought holy shit, this is it, this is what we've been waiting for, just an absolute beast and then ... he got hurt. I'm hoping he can reach that level again, and of course sustain it for an entire playoff run but considering his history, I wouldn't count on it so it's nothing more than a dream ATM.

I think Nylander's been just fine in the playoffs last few years but the rest of the core, just garbage. JT and Marner have been just terrible and Matthews while not as terrible as those two has still been pretty bad considering his cap hit suggests elite performance.

Willie @ 6.9m has been OK but we need more from Willie @ 11.5m. At a PPG player, he's not close to outperforming his cap hit.

Sure, with his big raise in pay comes higher expectations. That said, I don't care too much about regular season, just hoping he kills it in the playoffs.

For me Nylander was not better than marner or Matthews. He had been opportunism/ lucky, that's it. 80 % of goal he scored last 2 series was just luck...

Everyone need to play better to have succes, all of them no exception

Nah, he's a good natured guy, I enjoy his posts, it's all in good fun.

If we look at the last 2 series against Florida and Boston, Nylander's been way better than Marner. But no point in arguing about it as there's no way to prove anything one way or the other so ... agree to disagree.

In carreer outside of habs series so in 47 of his 54 playoff game, Nylander had 1 5v5 goal against any opposite top 6 line and it was a bad angle shot who never should goes in.... and like 3 to 5 assist.

Just like that even he Nylander missed 3 game, he played more ice time against boston bottom 6 than Marner who didn't missed any game.

Personally i can't say he had been better when he's completly unable to produce against any good player... and you can't even think toronto can go far in playoff in one of their top player winning 11,5M can't get the job done when matchup becoming harder

Yeah but how does he do on Thursday nights when playing on the road facing a European goalie?

I mean he was posting that New Jersey was taking all perimeter shots in the first period, when posters were showing that the shots were indeed high danger shots, and still could not admit he was wrong lol

Well in the 6 games since coming back 4goals, 4 assists = 107 point pace
Points aren’t the whole story, what did the media members who select stars of the game think?
1st star
1st star
2nd star
In 3 of his 6 games
Obviously he makes us worse.

Every team would be better with AM.
The issue always is salary vs expectation.
He would be the best 2nd line center in the NHL. Is he good enough to lead as 1st line.
So far....NO

positive regression is coming soon. he's not going to keep shooting around 10-11 % all season. he will bounce back. patience is key and it seems many on these broads dont have it.

Obviously. Him and Marner, they both suck. Put them on the same line and the suckage just multiplies. The blind squirrels do find a nut every now and then though, gotta give them that.
