That Senators is a massive outlier for teams that have gotten off to hot starts. Weird that people only bring them upTo answer your question: Neither. They aren't the world beaters as the standings are suggesting, but they aren't chumps either. Last night against the Avs would have been lost if it weren't for Hellebuyck. Games will tip the other way. They'll just regress to the mean which is probably slightly above average.
Just posted this in the Winnipeg forum: The 2007-08 Senators were the last ones to go 13-1-0 at the start of the season. Three weeks later they were already 16-7-3, played .500 hockey for the rest of the season and finished with 94 points, which is exactly where the Jets would land with a .500 pace from here. I expect the Jets to do a little bit better, but not much.
I realize we're still 6 games away from 20, but even if the Jets go 3-3 and start 16-4, they're still way up there on this list
