I think Keefe's shelf-life has simply evaporated. I keep refreshing my favorite Leafs news site to see his head roll, because we all know it's coming! I think the system in place either is poor, or the players are not buying. And 16-34 are not the only ones missing the cues.

They responded well to Keefe for multiple full seasons, and now aren't playing their best hockey, but yes, let's just look at the 10 games instead of the multiple other seasons where they performed their best and the team had their best season ever.

Has Kyper ever been good at hockey analysis or common sense? This doesn't surprise me.

Their best season ever was losing in the first round for the sixth straight time?

Do you mind telling me what they call the thing they do for 82 games?

And then what the tournament is called for the Stanley Cup?

I’m not in the locker room so i don’t know

Just because they suck now doesn’t mean they weren’t good for the last couple years, at least in the regular season

Last year they made keefe look amazing, not so much right now

  1. It's been one full season (2021-22)
  2. Did they respond well or just put up with him until now?

1. okay, one full season (the others were out of their control, clearly)
2. Who knows? But To make an assumption based on 10 games seems a lot less logical than the other 200+ (not sure how many games)

Matthews won the Hart and Richard Trophies last year.

Think I'll give him longer than 9 or 10 games before applying the coach killer tag.

Even Marner who has deserved some criticism of late, logs a lot of minutes all situations and is 'usually' helping the team win. Marner can be so much better. Here's hoping he will be because he's expensive.

Matthews is fine. He's as steady as they come.

Marner's issue doesn't have anything to do with the coach and more to do with himself. He's an emotional guy and that swings both ways. When he's at the top of his game, he's flying out there with a big smile on his face. But when he's down like right now, it starts showing up everywhere whether it's on the ice, in front of the media, or when dealing with the coach.

This side of him has shown up multiple times in do-or-die games too.

I think a coach needs to stick to his guns with a guy like Marner and set the tone. Not like Babcock but there's a middle ground too. Maintain the hierarchy or an emotional athlete will walk all over you.

He got bailed out by covid even before the cbj loss.

Right before the season ended we were on the brink of collapse

Matthews and Marner arent the entire team and the problem is deeper then blaming it all on AM and MM
I dont think the problem is coaching there's something rotten with the Leafs and this has been an issue long before Matthews or Marner were even in the NHL
