Imagine using advanced stats to determine what Arber Xhekaj brings to a team.

I'm just calling it like I see it. He was completely ineffective against us last season:

No need to get upset.

Edit: He was also among the worst defensemen in the league in expected goals against:

Looks like a list full of players who played on some pretty shitty teams last year.

that's ok Colton Orr made Lucic quit and cry.
Dumb take. Orr busted his nose. Won the fight. Orr was a very good fighter. Lucic is as well. Again Orr won the fight. Love to see the average HF keyboard warrior keep swinging with Orr after getting your nose busted by a solid haymaker. Or Lucic for that matter.

On topic at hand, hard to imagine any fan not wanting Xhekaj on their D.

I don’t get all of the hate in this thread. The vast majority of Habs fans are saying that he is a bottom pair defenceman with the potential to be a second pairing. He is only 22 years old so he has time to improve yet. Keep in mind that many depth defencemen are only starting to get their call ups to the NHL at 22.

He is a defenceman that every NHL team would want except for maybe a few that are really deep on defence. He plays a game that not many players around the league are capable of doing. In that I mean he will fight the toughest of fighters but also can play a regular shift.

To the people complaining about him, I can guarantee that if your team had him that you would love him.

Yes, the Sens fans are triggered by him. It's quite hilarious.
One poster = every Sens fan?

That's quite the brush. Well done.

I mean, there's a Sens fan posting good things about him just a few posts above yours. Is that your definition of triggered?

Nah. I just find it funny that the hardest criticism of him are from Sens fans for some reason.

More like a D version of Ryan Reaves.

I wonder if the Habs would consider moving him to a 4th line forward once they become a more competitive team. Having a liability like that as one of your 6 defensemen is fine when you're rebuilding, but I can't see a playoff team have a defenseman like that.

He's exactly the type of player a cup contender would love to have on their team.

lot of talk for this goon
This isn't the Reaves thread.

Not all the Sens. Just one in this thread which like you said is quite hilarious

Good player. Decent positioning, skating and a hard wrist shot that gets him PP time on the 2nd wave.

Doesn't have to get PIM from being out of position for tripping or hooking.

Remember when everyone said that Xhekaj was just a bottom pairing plug and a goon with a low ceiling and that he would be out of the league soon?
