Changing Drouin with Xhekaj would be stupid, positions and all, unless I missed Drouin playing the point, in which case, fair enough.

But both Xhekaj and Guhle should get a shot. Harris too, to be honest.
MSL has them trying to move more...............Drouin can't shoot a street hockey ball, so as he moves and sometimes lands at the point, he is beyond useless. To be frank, he has been useless no matter where he is put but that's another thread.............
The Sherriff has the shot, that can get through...........Guhlie and Harris for sure, also deserve a shot.
One thing for certain the guys we are using are fodder, other than CC and NS.........and maybe Monahan on the first PP unit...

Not remotely true as Marley was much bigger than Elvis in Africa as well as most of the world outside of North America. Ask any kid today to name one Elvis song and one Marley song, the result will be grossly in Marley's favour.
Cool that you believe that, remember,it's not a lie if YOU believe it.lol.

I agree 100% with you, give them a chance to see what they can do on the PP.

I still project him in the third pairing in a few years if we contending
You want overqualified players all around the lineup
Very possible but from the little I've seen and how inexperienced he is it's really hard to say what his upside is at this point. Especially with his non traditional path. That type can always get better.

Everyone is rooting for Mr Xhekaj, and to think that the "experts" didn't even list him with our top prospects, not even an honorable mention.

Personally, I thought he would be a good asset to us but required a few years in the AHL. Wrong! He's both physically and mentally ready for the NHL. Kid has the "it" factor and the confidence/motivation to take on this challenge early.

In truth, I usually rate NHL ready prospects (or ones that are close) higher than recent picks. Trend I noticed is the shiny new toys get higher ratings.

I'm going to be Arber Xhekaj for my Halloween custom tomorrow night. Going with a house league hockey jersey, helmet, pants, and "WIFI" duct taped as my name on the back. There will be Leafs fans at that party so they better watch out!

Didn't have time to plan or buy a custom. Best I can think of the day before. lol.

Count me amongst the people who think he looks like Souray on the ice. He's got better skating and mobility even.

What I am surprised with, is how strong he is, beyond the obvious height and weight. Pound for pound, some guys are just stronger than others. He's one of those who are so strong beyond average... must be something about muscle fibers and efficiency. Anyway, when he pushes guys, he doesn't even look like he's trying that hard, and the guy just tumbles on the ice like a peewee.

If possible
Get some rubber "big hands" lol

I thought that he could have played for us last year. He will only get better and was a great find by the previous scouting staff.

Lots of kids his age are working or had worked at COSTCO. No big deal.
Sure, but not a lot of kids who end up playing in the NHL at 21 were working a day job at Costco or doing manual labour outdoors just ~13-18 months prior. Guhle for instance received 92.5k signing bonuses each year in July 2020, 2021, and 2022 while he was still in the WHL and was able to pay for ice time and training when the WHL was shut down with covid without having to worry about money at all. Xhekaj had to pay his own way to keep training when the OHL was shut down in 20-21 and for ice through Summer 2021, and didn't have a dime of pro hockey money until he signed his ELC in Sept 2021.

It's not amazing and noteworthy that a 19/20 year old worked an honest job, but it's a really cool story that a 19/20 year old working an honest job to pay for training and ice time was able to compete with and outplay a bunch of high draft picks that had signing bonuses at 18 with a much easier path, and make it to the NHL at 21.
