"Very heavy, some say the heaviest ever".

He definitely overpowered the net. Look out goalies, he'll be shattering masks and blowing up pads next.

Always fun to see these weird occurances.

Geez this is the preaseason it doesn't mater! Xhekaj shooting through the net is definitely not a "welcome to the NHL" moment for the net.

He must be the NHL’s Superman with that kind of strength. But he did break his hand fighting Vinny Doomsday Desharnais.

There are some things you just don’t do in the NHL, showing up the goalie is one of them. will have to answer the bell when these two teams play in the regular season

Goalie got a piece of it to slow it down too. If he hadn't somebody in the crowd would probably be dead.

There was an incident in the world championships in a FIN-USA where a goal was scored through the the net and on review it was accepted. The Finnish commentator kept laughing at Tortorella for raging about it, until he saw the replay.

I remember when Leclair scored a playoff goal by shooting it through the net on the outside of the post. It confused the f*** out of Hasek. They didn't catch it until the next commercial break but play had already resumed so it counted. I think that was one of many plays that led to the automatic reviews of all goals.

I was also going to post this, but I thought they disallowed that goal?

It's a really bizarre event though. Probably only the 3rd time in 30 years I've seen it happening.

Same thing happened in the WCH game between Finland and USA maybe 10-15 years ago. Finnish D man shot the puck from the blue line, replay clearly showed the puck going through the net, referees looked at it but is was still allowed.
