I'm hoping for a better draft pick at this point. My spirit was broken the last game. I wonder how many camera shots of Burke the TV crew does?

I still support this train wreck because they are my team and always will be. Doesn't mean I can't hate them at the same time.
That being said: look at all the posts on this board. There are so many things wrong with this team or the only posts would be we just need a D or a scorer and everything will be fine. But it's not. We can all agree that from team D, to leadership, to compete, to no. 1 center, etc. etc. we are massively flawed. We can argue that Kadri has to go or Dion or Lupul, some will agree and some won't, but this team needs a massive shakeup and leadership change.

You just know the Leafs are going to win 5 of their next 6 games, missing the playoffs by a single point and getting a ****** pick in the process.

as is tradition.

Look. I've been optimistic all year about this team. I've supported them, I've defended them, I've championed for them. And then they lost eight straight. And don't get me wrong - I'll continue to do that [and suffer ] but it don't get why it's disgusting hoping the Leafs lose. Right now the Leafs chance of making the playoffs is 6.3 or something ridiculously low.

So - it's not even the fact that if they can rip off six straight wins. [heck, it's not even the fact that if the leafs can win tonight]. they have to hope that Columbus/Washington/Detroit all lose what? three games? and it's still not enough. I've said it over and over again. I want one of two things for the Leafs right now:

Make the playoffs or
Draft in the top 10.

We're constantly stuck in no man's land, and it's hurting the team. winning tonight, does what? sure pump the guys up - but then what? It's not just 'some future 2nd liner.' the higher our draft position, is the better we can try to move up and get someone really good. Our cupboards are crap.

I try to support this team in a three dimensional manner. the Playoffs is one aspect of that - that's gone. so I'm turning my focus on the future.

Brian Burke is going to come into town driving an 18 wheeler and crash it right into the ACC.

No, he's going to park the 18 wheeler outside the ACC and let Nonis and Company drive it off the Gardiner Expressway somewhere!

A Calgary win will all but eliminates the Leafs from playoff contention. So I think the Leafs will win because Burke will call off the dogs and toss the Leafs a bone tonight.

He knows that Nonis and Carlyle are his hires and 85% of the player personnel his rebuild and still believes this is his team.

Therefore the more this team struggles the more the blame points right back at him.

My spirit was broken a few games ago, before we had even fallen out of a playoff spot.

As Noodles said on TSN radio yesterday, the worst thing that can happen is that this team goes something like 5-1 to close the season and misses by 1 point.

Though, it would be hilarious if they could run the table and get in, then choke for a second time in the same season.

I ....
............. but

really? Like... regardless if the leafs win or lose tonight, there is still a lot of blame pointed at him. So I doubt very much Burke and his flop of hair is going to stroll down to the locker room and go "hey boys, i screwed up Toronto big time whilst I was here in town, so do you mind not going 100% tonight, and let them squeak out a win?"

that makes no sense.
