Anze Kopitar All Time Career Points Tracker

This thread rules.

He's got an outside shot at top 25 all time. But even top 40 is something I had never thought he'd get to for a variety of reasons...duration and durability and consistency unmatched, but on a defesnive team in a lower scoring era...so glad it's back up and the team has been trending up and it's really their turn to feed HIM some points.

I'll never stop saying that Kopitar's abilities have either been underrated or underappreciated by everyone (including myself). And that's not a knock on anyone. To varying degrees people have recognized him, but to be one of the top all-time scorers with his durability and hard minutes, the Kings would have been a very different team.

It just sucks to see the age really catch up with him this season.

On April 10th 2025 Anze Kopitar recorded 2 points (1g, 1a) bringing his career total to 1275 passing Al MacInnis for 40th all time.

Next up Alex Delvecchio:

39. Alex Delvecchio 1281
40. Anze Kopitar 1,275
41. Al MacInnis 1,274
42. Jean Ratelle 1267
43. Peter Stastny 1239
44. Phil Housley 1232

Top 40 all time.

Top 40 all time.

All of this without having a true star winger for almost his entire prime.

My friends in Chicago give me crap when I say this, but if you put Kopitar on Chicago and give him that system and 15 years of Patrick Kane on his wing he is firmly considered better than any of the non-Pittsburgh centers drafted around the same time (Toews, Stamkos, Bergeron, Backstrom, Getzlaf etc.)

Toews played in an original six major hockey market and is Canadian and Kopitar played in an insignificant hockey market and is Slovenian. I think that is the only reason polls between the two are close.

A Slovenian being in the top 40 in points is more impressive than Ovie and his 895 goals. Yeah, I said it. LOL. Kopi is the greatest King I don't care what anyone says.

Crazy that Makar who is currently 26 has a chance to pass Teemu Selanne, who had a Hall of Fame career that ended when he was 42 as early as this season.

Colorado fans are spoiled, team has been there for 30 seasons and they've had so many superstar players.

One great thing about Kopitar is that he's so consistent. Even when he goes up against the best in the playoffs, he just continues to score and produce.

Career points per game, regular season: 0.88
Career points per game, playoffs: 0.86

It's too bad the Kings have only made the playoffs in 10 of his 19 seasons or he'd be higher on that list of points in the playoffs. What a career.

IMO,, legitimately one of the top 10 centers in the last 15 years or so.
