Railroad living. Lots of mandatory OT. Full coverage for me and mine, BCBS, vision and dental that I pay nothing for.

Was offered a position in entry level management, but that's like a 20k paycut for me and it takes a decade plus to move up unless you know somebody. I've got Sunday-Monday off on afternoons, had Sat-Sun last year. All seniority based. Easy work too once you've got seniority, I basically operate a million dollar Xbox.

But we're 24/7 365. Every holiday I'm there.

I’m very similar to you being UAW at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere. I’m in the salaried union, so we get paid for 40 no matter what but then OT every minute after.

I think we’ve talked about this before. Aren’t you a union steward too?

Same thing with free bcbs, dental, etc. Currently working 70 hours a week excluding breaks so closer to 75. On the bright side, I’ll be hitting my annual salary in June at this point... I miss working only 40 tho. Can’t wair til OT gets cut.

Wish my dogs could clean up their own shit. Two big dogs + 5 months no cleanup for winter = 55 gallon yard waste bag filled with shit this afternoon. :madfire:

Need to teach them f***ers to use the toilet.

Old Overholt is such an enigma to me. It's $17/bottle at Binny's and $26 for the Rye. On it's own it's horrible but it makes one of the better Old Fashioneds I've ever had.

Bavette's, one of the more prestigious steak houses in Chicago, even uses it for their Old Fashioneds

Rough couple of weeks. The wife was in the hospital for the past week, but is thankfully seemingly fine now. And now that I'm back to work, I'm unexpectedly swamped and feel like I'm inadvertently compressing my spine and neck just from internalized anger.

I'm an unhappy camper the last two weeks....

We might have. We're crazy busy this year too. Averaging between 60-70 hours a week. Paid lunches/breaks though, which is nice.

Yea, I'm a steward, but my union is a joke. It's less about getting guys out of trouble and more about not getting them into more.

I remember that crap (pun intended). Building a dog run for my GSDs helped tremendously. It's amazing how quickly they knew to only poop there.

Lay a nice pea gravel bed like 10x5 and fence it off with those small fences you get at Menards.

But hoisting the dog crap into the garbage can was such a pain in the arse.

For people with multiple kids, how was the change from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4?

My wife and I would love to be able to have a large family (4) and we are ready to make sacrifices to our lifestyle but holy shit, it's gotta be TOUGH.

Only have two, and they were about 7 years apart, so hard to really provide any insight here, sorry.

We are going from 1 to 2 kids in a few weeks. I'd be interested to hearing the answer to this as well. Our girls will only be 16 months apart.

Wasting no time I see :D congrats btw

16 months is quick. We're planning around 21 months apart. If we have 3-4, it might be shorter. Would like to be done before 35, but take it a kid at a time .

There isn't much time available to waste, lol. I'm 36 and the wife is 37, so no time like the present.

That said, we stopped doing birth control once my wife stopped breast feeding at 6 months and got pregnant on the first cycle, which was a bit of a holy crap moment. I thought we would have 4-6 months before it happened and would be around the range your shooting for, but such is life. I know how hard it can be for other couples and friends of ours so I'm not really complaining, but it was a bit of a shock at first.

I knew something was going on last night as I was heading to work

Tons of police cars went flying past me and ambulance from South Holland all into Riverdale

Turns out 3 people were ambushed and shot not too far off from my house (Not that close though either)

They say a lot of police departments responded (10 according to media) and 6 ambulances

Wonder if this is sign of a violent summer ,, It was first warm day of year yesterday
