Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a while.

Depends how much one is in the car, although I listen much more through phone/computer. The amortized cost given the amount I listen is a pittance. It's like $12/mo, so even if I didn't listen much, you're not talking a lot of money.

I pay the $5 a month for Pandora Plus or whatever it is to go commercial free. It's what I listen to 99% of the time in the car, and I'm more than happy with it. But family parties, bbqs, hanging out at my parents by the pool was always accompanied by The Loop, which was far better on weekends than weekdays the past handful of years. There's a sentimentality there that will be gone. More than anything else, that's what will suck.

I really wish they would have had a final month or something. I mean would it have killed the new ownership to allow some time for some sorta celebration of station

Reminds me of when 103.5 went off the air though naturally that didn't have history or anything but it was so sudden

Then I enjoyed the oldies it switched to but then that went off air like two years later again with sudden format switch

My dad and I recently started getting into drinking rum. Having some Pilar 24 on the rocks right now and loving every sip. It's this awesome combo of sweetness, almost like a syrup, and a nice alcohol burn to it. Didn't realize the complexities of rum. It's made in essentially every Central and South American country as well as France and their old colonies and it's different everywhere you go

I'm too lazy to do top 10, but I think Social Network would be my #1. Id have Spotlight and Big Short on there somewhere. Probably Whiplash too. I never saw Interstellar though (I know) and I'm not a big comic movie guy.

Edit: Zero Dark Thirty on there too.

Jeez.... no clue what my top ten of the past decade would be. I'll have to give a lot of thought to that. I would assume that Fury Road, Arrival, Skyfall, and Interstellar would all definitely make my cut, and Force Awakens and Last Jedi probably would as well. Dark Knight might be the only superhero film to crack the list.

Just got a glowing performance review, nice bonus, and a decent raise, and then found out that I'm apparently the 2nd highest paid member of my department. The latter bit was a tad surprising to find out, I had previously assumed that I was being paid less due to the fact that I work remotely, so that was a nice, albeit disconcerting somehow, piece of news.

And the money I get goes a helluva lot further down in McLean County compared to the rest of the department in Cook County.

Likely related to the new tax policy that gave corporations a boost. Have a couple friends who also just got unexpected bonuses. And it's mainly attributed to that. Congrats to you too.
