Political forums have a discussion about it. It's a little too crowded over there ATM (so many posts today), but an option for those who want to discuss it.

http://hfboards.mandatory.com/forums/political-discussion-on-topic-unmoderated.160/

UsernameWasTaken, OCMC (who's dead to me), and hawksrule are frequently seen there. I lurk, but someone usually says what I would say before I get a chance to say it so I usually stay somewhat quiet (try saying that 10 times fast).

How could it not be? The conversation was civil, but rules are rules.

I mean, saying gun control is political is like saying traffic laws are political. They're policy, not political positions.

I doubt a conversation would be shut down for discussing an increase in fines for distracted driving and whether they have merit or some such. Though maybe you would... I guess we've never tested discussions of local laws, at least not that I remember.

A topic can be controversial and involve government as a mechanism for change, without being inherently political.

But I understand if the mods don't want to be perched over this thread for the next week, waiting just in case somebody decides to start decrying people or parties on one end of the spectrum or another.

Have to take context into consideration. Gun control is much more toxic from a political standpoint than driving fines. The conversation can be derailed extremely quick, and, as you mention in the last part, we really don’t want to have to keep an eye on this thread non-stop to make sure it hasn’t turned super political.

I just want to point out it's bull**** I wasn't included in the debate about what this thread would do with that earlier discussion. Now I might not be a mod, but I'm the best poster on this forum. I'm literally the Patrick Kane of HF Hawks. A leader without the letter.

OCMC, way to hurt my feelings. And to think I was going to invite you to my birthday party. We were going to eat cake and pin the tail on the donkey. But not anymore. I'm way too hurt right now. :(

Fine, no gift for you :p

Comparing gun legislation to traffic laws in light of recent events with the issue going down party lines is thin at best.

So if I run for office, I'm not allowed to talk about it on here? Can I at least make an avatar with my campaign slogan?

Whatever, probably just be a gift card to Bdubs anyways...

Sorry but I doubt you have the infraction record to be the Patty Kane of HFboards. I do on the other hand! :P

I've gotten plenty of infractions. Not sure it'll show up on my record anywhere with new HF, but I certainly have gotten 'em.

Received one infraction because I got a little too into one of NFS's new cloths GDTs. I regret nothing, I laughed my ass off at the time.

petty made a lot of great songs. i think the best one is the one with stevie nicks.

"Stop draggin' my heart around" For sure, one of the best. Some people may not know "Don't come around here no more" was a Stevie Nicks song in progress she was working on at the same studio where Tom Petty was working on his album. He stole it from her and finished it. He also wrong other songs for Stevie though. Two of the best ever right there, as song writers and musicians.

Tom Petty was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was then transferred to a better hospital where doctors upgraded his condition to alive.
