An outlier? I mean, he has been great, dominant, superstar player this season and last, it's just not common for a player to explode at 24, so I think it's wrong to say its normal or to assume it will happen with every prospect. Every single team board is now going to believe that their struggling 1st round pick is going to be the next Tage Thompson, when in reality those struggling 1st round picks have a much higher likelihood of busting than they do of being Tage Thompson.
Kind of like how for years Drew Brees was the cautionary tale of giving up on a QB to soon, and everyone believed their QB who did nothing for 3-4 years was going to pull a Drew Brees. But hope springs eternal, right?
