I’m sure he would be happy to dump a contract for pretty much nothing.
Chicago counters, will take the 6 mill you owe Armia and send you a 3rd rd pick (Dallas) for Florida’s 1st (29 to 32) and Montreal’s 3rd rd pick.
yeah no thx

Why is hughes dumping contracts with picks? Are you aware the Habs are rebuilding? They aren't using the cap any time soon.
true, but he might want them off the roster

Habs will have over 20 million in cap space with Caufield being the only signing of significance. No need to waste draft picks to unload Armia and Hoffman. With it being the final year of Hoffman's contract, he will be shopped with retention at the TDL.

Isles dont have a 3rd rounder until 2025 but I suspect a 3rd + Bailey is doable

chi has so many picks this year they may not mind spreading some to 2025 .

99% of what’s on here has no chance of happening.
Chicago needs to attempt moving up. Not taking on cap dumps for a pick with a 10% chance of ever seeing NHL ice.
Other than having a team so bad that it f__ks up the development of rookie prospects, Chicago should do whatever they can to get as many higher end picks and prospects as they can. They have roster spots and cap space for the next 2 to 3 years that other teams do not have. Use them to amass high end picks and prospects. Then, in 3 to 7 years, your team has the best chance possible of coming out of a rebuild with a Cup-worthy core of young guys. That's all thay really matters. What the roster looks like in terms of cap dumps and such next year barely matters... unless it can help/hurt Bedard's development.

Davidson and Richardson have a certain type of player in mind. It’s not likely they shift from that. I don’t see a guy like Lucic on this team no matter (almost) what sweeteners are with him.
They had a terrible team last year but most news articles from other teams noted they hung tougher than expected. Lost a lot of 1 goal games.
