This is why it happened now. Stars can't carry 3 goalies anymore.

That's a solid pick-up for free. I was foaming at the mouth at the thought of him platooning or backing up Jarry but Casey Desmith has put together a string of very good games so he may be out of his funk.

Surely he will get claim, I wonder who has the cap space for it.
NJ,Buffalo,PIT maybe ANA ?

A long shot would be Montreal, if they have received offers for Allen or if Price can't return soon.

Devils might take a chance, but I hope they've got their scouts busy watching tape to see if there's something wrong with him this year that he has such bad numbers. Also depends on what is really wrong with Bernier.

No chance the Habs claim him.

I doubt they have any interest and have no cap space.

People really think he is going to get claimed?

$3.33M this year and NEXT.. for a shit goalie?

I'd think Dallas would have called around before waiving him. If there was any market, they would have traded him. Heck, even for 'future considerations' it saves the claiming team like $30K.

No one will claim him. But it's pretty common for players to be traded right after clearing waivers.

Dallas is just checking if they can get someone to take him at full price before pulling the trigger on a move that leaves them with a smaller cap hit.

I wanted him or Halak, guess I will go for Halak instead.

Halak's availability depends on how far Van can claw their way back before the TDL, if they're even sniffing a wild card spot theres no way they deal him.

Khudobin might be worth a gamble depending how much 75% retention would cost. I'm assuming Dallas would eat 50% for peanuts, but I'd be curious to see the price for a 3rd party team to retain on top of it. He's definitely not the worst depth option on the market.
